Pretty much agree here. But a pro career would almost certainly be as a 3rd down back or a kick returner. He has not really distinguished himself as a pass catcher and I have no idea about his ability to return kicks. IOW, not a sure fire pro prospect. If he leaves it may be more about a mindset of simply not caring to be in college any longer. JMOI think he has a reason to go. He is a smallish back that will not be an every down kind of player, but may find a niche on STs in kickoff return and backup, third down back. He has not yet demonstrated great hands, which really hurts him at his size (who wants a third down back who cannot run a route and catch?). But, the things that would make him more desirable are not things he controls (cannot get bigger). I doubt a fourth year would move him up the board enough to make it worth his while. Just one uneducated man's opinion.
This is BW's third year at UK meaning that he is draft eligible. Who doesn't believe he will leave after this season?

I agree. Boom might wanna go but the backs coming out this year or are eligible are incredibly deep. And with how the nfl works, he'll be lucky to make a rosterWith teams not putting as much value on RBs in the NFL as they once did I don't know where Boom would be drafted. There are alot of very good RBs who will be eligible to come out this year, Fournette, Chubb, Hurd, Michel, Williams, Hood, McCaffery. Perine at OU, Cook at FSU, Kamara, Freeman at Oregon gained over 1800 yards last year. All of those are Jr., and that's just the ones I am somewhat aware of. All of them may not leave early but all of them will check it out. Its very likely all of them won't get drafted and have to go the free agent route and hope to catch on. But there are a ton of backs eligible to come out early this year, it will be a risky year to leave early.
I am agreeing more with you...as of right now, he is not being drafted; so why leave? With teams not putting as much value on RBs in the NFL as they once did I don't know where Boom would be drafted. But, does the RB draft board get better for Boom if he stays four years? Good RBs are available every year. Only the elite get drafted high. There will be a list next year too.
His freshman year he broke one that was returned to about the 10 yard line. Why we have never used him there since is a mystery. Same with punt returns. We should have him out there and probably would if there were any focus put on special teams.Pretty much agree here. But a pro career would almost certainly be as a 3rd down back or a kick returner. I don't know about that, you are right about RBs being eligible every year, but I can't remember a year with so many great/good RB going to be eligible to leave. Boom has some things he needs to improve on, he needs to show he can catch the ball out of the backfield, be more willing to block are 2 big ones. Boom is a great runner, but all those guys are, plus he is one of if not the smallest, he is going to have to show he can catch the ball to make a roster in the NFL. McCaffery is small too, but he has shown he has great hands and could make a roster as a WR.

Boom is good but not one of the best. #5 CM from Stanford is one of the best and Boom aint on that level. He's one of the best backs in football. He should go before he gets injured again.
You can usually discern the emphasis teams place on special teams when you see who they have returning kicks/punts. Brooks would often have his best offensive player back there. It's funny when a Grandpa is willing to be more bold than a younger man.
Everything about Stoops is risk avoidance: play a passive 3-4 to prevent the big play, while dying the death of a thousand cuts on off tackle running plays and don't use your best skill guys in special teams because they may get hurt. He's so afraid of losing he'll never win here.
He will need to have an excellent season to be able to go... outside of that I hope he is concentrating on his schoolingHe's looking for a reason to go imo.

Dam straight. Lacks fire in the belly.Me. Just doesn't fit the NFL. He's too fragile and his hissy fits won't fit well. Come back, dedicate yourself to getting in better condition and grow up.

I heard he would be close to graduating after this year. A few summer classes and he might have that degree.
I tell you what he did really well against USM....helped all their players up after every play....WTF
Boom's dad has always been a little more involved in Boom's career than he should have been. Back in HS days a coach didn't something he didn't like, they tranferred.

Guess the subject of Boom's dad is a touchy subject. I can't remember the last time I had a reply of mine deleted. Oh well, he's not my cup of tea for Catwalk and I think Boom declares at the end of the year.

Sour grapes.
lol, why, it worked out great for both of us Boom is a vocal point of UK's offense and UGA signed Sony Michel in the spot he opened up. Worked out great for both parties.
I agree. So, why so sour?

Who's sour, it's the way things went. I am glad Boom is having a good career and giving himself a chance to make a check playing in the league.
