Mike Williams is N.
It only took the first HUDL clip to see this kid is VERY TALENTED.
Mike Williams is N.
at 2:14 Mike Williams and a defender are both about on the 40 yard line. The defender is on the far hash mark and catches him. Not saying he is not fast and I am excited to have him. #gbr
Have been told he might be somewhat Frantz Hardy or Curenski Gilleyan-esque...(sorry if i mis-spelled)...when he makes the catch likely big things will happen, getting the catch could be interesting at times.
No stars. Rivals hasn’t bothered to rate him so obviously he can’t be any good. Impressive film, but no stars is no stars.
I haven't watched his hudl yet, but someone on RSS made this comment after watching it:
If this kid ran a 4.3 then there are all sorts of juco's on opposing teams running 4.1-4.2's. He isn't that fast. Looks like he could make an impact but reminds of Demornay the receiver, not Demornay the return man.
seems like a guy who will get much better if he sat out a year in [email protected] got caught a bunch from behind...not because he doesn't have great speed but he seems to fade on the bigger runs. He runs very smooth and looks "slow" but seems to run away from guys initially.
You realize there is a big difference between 40 times and top end speed right? Getting run down at the end of a 70 yard pass play doesn’t say anything about his 40 time

Correct me if I'm wrong... As a JUCO you lose a star off of what you would be as a high schooler.

He'll be our #5 or 6 receiver. We're not expecting him to come in and be another JD Spielman. He's here to add depth to an offense that needs lots of receivers.
That’s too funny. He was unrated earlier today. Must be the Frost effect. Perhaps 247 which still has him at 0 will bump him to four or five tomorrow.Rivals gave him 3 stars...

Rivals did not have him in their system until a few days ago and they still had to do some due diligence on him before giving him a star ranking.

That’s some coincidence. He commits to NU and hours later he’s rated. His tape is impressive, rating or not.Rivals did not have him in their system until a few days ago and they still had to do some due diligence on him before giving him a star ranking.
How much of Hardy's issue was how he was used? From what I remember, it seemed like about 90% of the time he was in and it was a pass play he was just told to streak down the field and hope the QB could hit him in stride. Might have been a solid receiver if used differently. Same with Curenski Gilleylen for that matter.Damn, Currenski Gilleylen. There is a name I haven't heard in a while!
Hardy is the guy who most often comes to mind when I think of JC WRs. That probably isn't fair, as Mo Purify was really good for us. I hope Woodyard/Williams have the production of the latter.

supposedly this kid is very elusive with the ball in his hands, has good hands and is good at getting himself open. Johnny Rodgers could get run down from behind but he was virtually impossible to corral in the open field. What I want to see are receivers who are disciplined route runners, good blockers and have good hands. If they have speed and shake and bake, all the better. But to me it is more important on the college level for receivers to be good route runners and to have good hands. Pierson-El is a good example of a receiver who had speed but was very inconsistent in his route running and in his catching ability. Morgan got better as the year went on, but early on he had the dropsies too. In my mind, a receiver with suspect hands is like a great running back who has all of the power and moves and instincts, but who keeps fumbling. Not good.
Good to hear. This recruiting class is shaping up to exceed expectationssupposedly this kid is very elusive with the ball in his hands, has good hands and is good at getting himself open. Johnny Rodgers could get run down from behind but he was virtually impossible to corral in the open field.
As long as it fills needs. We had to get a QB. That was my biggest concern. Everything else is gravy. I'm hoping we're not reaching on guys just to get bodies. So far it looks pretty good. We'll know for sure in a couple of years.Good to hear. This recruiting class is shaping up to exceed expectations
