Doesn't matter. Goaltending would never had held up. They were never as good as the record... Built for the regular season. No elite stopper and weak power play. Leafs would have crushed them

Who is the Leaf’s elite stopper?

Hate to see Bergeron go out like this.

Lindholm looked horrendous all series. Goaltending was soft. Turnovers emerged from out of nowhere for Bs. Hockey is amazing.

Tim Thomas was a really good goalie who played at an elite level for one season in 2011 and Bs still needed 3 x 7 game series. Their weak back checking meant they needed someone to play above their paygrade. Didn't happen. samsonov is playing great when they need it. I don't trust Nordic goalies, Russians have much better track record. The last elite stopper Boston had was Ken Dryden for a few days back in 1964

Lots to unpack with that analysis.

Agree with some, not all... I think the Bs have had some great tenders over the years: Cheevers, Rask, Moog… may just be a need to get current duo more Stanley Cup experience. And some of their good players did not deliver in crunch time. That said, they had multiple opportunities to lock the Series up.

It’s hard to think of a more brutal collapse than the Bruins. Rough.

Perhaps, but consider Seattle defeating defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado in Colorado last night in Game 7. Seattle is the first expansion team in NHL history to defeat the reigning Cup champion in a Game 7.

EDIT: Seattle was much closer to Colorado in the regular season standings than Florida was to Boston. Still, surprising for Seattle to defeat Colorado in Colorado last night. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Seattle got good relatively fast.

South Florida is pretty amped about the Heat knocking off Milwaukee and the Panthers ousting Boston.

That kind of success doesn't come around that often down here.

I read that Ullmark was nursing an injury which is a shame. Why didn't they play Shayman who played a lot this year? Didn't they do the same thing with Rask last year in the playoffs? That's a tough call for a coach. Do you play your star goalie or starting quarterback even if they're not 100%? Do they still give you a better chance at winning than a healthy backup?

This is how Bruins fans felt letting it get away and their great season for naught.
