I picked up a fifth of Elijah Craig 12 year today for a Christmas gathering tomorrow.

It is kind of hot for bourbon at the moment.

Nursing (yeah right), an Old Fashioned, made with Wild Turkey Rye.

sugar cube, muddled with half an orange slice and a cherry, a dash of bitters, and just a touch of club soda.

Add 3 ounces WT Rye, stir, and fill tumbler with ice.

Enjoy the goodness.

Makers on ice with a splash of water, or straight Woodford on an ice ball do it for me. Friend bought me a bottle of Jim Beam Ghost the other day, not a fan. Good for mixed drinks though.

Just finished off a bottle of Stagg Jr. Saturday night. Will be opening the other later in the week.

If you have a change to get a bottle, grab it...

Primarily a Makers Mark drinker but found a bottle of Four Roses that was given to me as a gift last year and drank some at the UK/UT game. Very smooth which is scary.

I know Weller 12 is hot right now because of the Pappy mash thing, but I thought it was average. Just MHO.

46 was surprisingly good. Anything four roses is my flavor.

Got a bottle of Willett Single Barrell from my agency manager...

Really enjoyed...*very* smoky, and a little different, but I loved it.

I'm one of Willy's people, so I'm trying to find a go-to, everyday bourbon that is smooth enough to drink neat. Any non-premium suggestions?

Like some of the other posters here, I too like Bulleit; it's pretty smooth neat, IMO.
