I got an EHT Barrel, at first I thought it was hot and thin... then it opened up and got interesting, rich and excellent.

I know every batch is technically different but I thought cigar blend was garbage. So glad someone gave me a sample before I opened mine, ended up selling it
Stagg Jr and EHT Barrel Proof are absolutely nothing alike.

Correct. Stagg Jr is a sledgehammer. There’s no subtle nuanced flavors. It’s explosion. It is nepalm in the back end.
EHT is buttery and fruity. Warm spice and refined finish.
I like tape whiskey. Old West simplicity. No Madison Avenue marketing for me!

Scrap taping is fine. **** corks are another story... strongly suggest Paddock Bourbon Baron should take a hard look at Bardstown Bourbon Company’s cork game. They’ve got a massive, substantial cork that would make a distiller (ahem) jealous.
Where do y'all go for the most cost effective bourbon shopping. I'm not talking about rot gut or top shelf, just who generally has the best prices?
I've always been one to just go and get bourbon whenever I'm in the mood and don't care about the price. Recently joined Costco and they've got a decent bulk selection, which is fine for me because I'm not some high dollar baller by any stretch as many of you are. I have several friends who do have fine collections and I do appreciate a fine bourbon that's been properly aged. But at the end of the day, I just want to sit and sip. S

Mine was batch 25 too. In general I'm not a huge fan of bourbons finished in argagnac casks. I have three (two unopened) of the Bardstown Chateau de Laubade that's highly regarded as well and goes for $400 on secondary right now that I think is just OK.
That Chateau de Laubade was highly reviewed. I’d love to get my hands in one. I love finished bourbons. I love Armagnac and Cognac.
It’s ok but they are all completely different IMO.
Green is my favorite although red(OWA) is growing on me a lot.
12 year is like drinking nothing it’s so smooth and I prefer some bite to my bourbon.
Full Proof is good, but from my understanding the first full proof’s were aged 11-12 yrs, and at this point it’s all 7-8 year and just lost some of the luster. Still anything full proof is good.
CYPB is like drinking Chinese brown sauce watered down. Terrible!

It's hard to beat Kroger and Meijer's sale prices. At least in my driving area. Awhile back I got a Russell's Reserve for $18.99 at Kroger. Three weeks ago I got a Booker's for $59.
Weller Antique is excellent. Special Reserve is good but nothing special IMO.

Picked up a bottle a couple weeks ago and haven't cracked it yet. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this article pop up on my twitter feed over the weekend. Pretty excited to have a couple pours on Christmas.
So my wife got me a bottle of Blanton’s for a surprise Christmas gift. She paid way too much for it but it was the thought.
Won a 2013 Eagle Rare 17 and Batch #9 EHT BP in squares last night. Pretty solid ROI for $160.
Maybe it will work maybe not... all BT bourbons are not always available there so its a crap shoot
