I believe if this game were played during the season, Utah would win rather easily. This game, who knows? These non playoff bowls have been exhibition games
So far in 28 bowl games, 13 favorites and 15 underdogs have covered.
This was edited after I double checked.

The game isn't being played during the regular season though.

Then this game doesn't matter for Nebraska either then correct? It is just an exhibition game, if Lateef plays well great, if the team loses by 20 who cares, if they win, irrelevant because Utah has a new coach and players sitting out.

I don’t remember saying this game mattered for Nebraska. But I agree with you.

So I should expect no complaining about the game or over exuberant celebrations if Nebraska happens to win. Right. It is an exhibition with a bunch of players sitting out or unavailable from both teams.

Isn’t it ok to celebrate a win even if it’s an exhibition?

You can expect whatever you’d like. This season has been a failure from my vantage point. The outcome of the bowl won’t change any of that

I think you have us confused with your classroom.

Every game is only an exhibition. It doesn't matter who wins or loses because it's simply entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less.
Two couples pay $30.00 to see the same movie. One couple walks out and says, "Man, what a great movie!!"
The other couple walks out and says, "Man, that show sucked."

Different expectations, different levels of entertainment.

So now I’m confused. If you see the movie at the theatre (regular season game) you have different expectations than if you watch it on Netflix? (Bowl game exhibition).

you either like the movie or you don’t.

I'm not the one who's been claiming the bowl games are exhibitions, the very fact they count on your won/lost record means they count for something.

I watch all the games on television for free, so it costs me nothing other than 3-4 hours of doing something I've been doing for 63 years.

So, Real Tuco Salamanca and Tuco Salamanca two different accounts, which one is the
nitpicky/gotcha teacher?

They do count on your W/L but in a lot of cases each team is giving far less than 100% effort (like exhibition). CFB is in a transitionary period and much of it makes little sense. I’m am excited to see where it goes. I’m am not excited in the direction Nebraska is going.

Can I complain next year when the Huskers win only 4-6 games?

I guarantee that after idiot kool-aid kicks in and we start losing next year people will say...but Rhule won 5,7, 8 games. He just had an 8 win season, well if he just won 8 then I expect 9 for 2026. A lot of people used the 7 wins last year as a reason we were getting better. One thing..Utah is ranked. And we won't have to hear how we have lost like 50 in a row to ranked teams. That alone makes it worth hiring some of Raiders to play for us. Wait, is there any reason we couldn't do that?

nothing like taking a bunch of hypotheticals and making them real. I don't like Matt Rhule so this is what might happen and if that happens then I am going to be pissed. Who gives a ****??? and the last word that is starred out starts with an f.

Bro, everybody who has endured the last 10-20 years as a husker fan just wants that amazing feeling of winning the national title year after year, of wearing out cocky opponents with hard-working less talented players, of being the greatest team ever and being known for excellence. Nobody is happy losing because we know what it likes to be the best. A lot of people connected to the 90s for whatever reason, which is why we travel so well, and fill the stadium despite the actual personnel having no relation to excellence. Some people decide not to beat their wives, or drink themselves into the void, or just be miserable humans over some random college football players who aren't good enough for power 4. It doesn't mean we don't care deeply.

This is the misinformation campaign that I don’t get. No one, not a single person, will be thrilled with a C+. Not everyone goes into histrionics when we lose, it doesn’t mean we’re thrilled.

MY point was in a classroom, not a football game result. My point is 100% valid.

Don't you know that for many on this board;

Utah wins, Nebraska sucks.
Nebraska wins, then Utah AND Nebraska both suck.

The outcome of this game will determine how much it matters to some.

Either the game matters or it doesn't.
Utah is pretty buttoned up on offense. It’s clear that Rhule did not like how the DL played or how they were used. He was working the DL during bowl prep. So are the kids NU has at DL just not up to the task or did he make a bum hire of a rookie coach? Everyone is slagging on the kids that backed up EJ. But none of those kids embarrassed themselves when they actually got a chance to play. Is there something there at RB?
If anything, there is extra incentive to watch the game for me.

I am excited to see some fresh players. But I’m not going to take anything away from the result. Just like I didn’t vs BC last year. It was cool to watch Shavers flash. Looking for the future studs. Hoping the new coaches can provide energy

Excited to see the Huskers play. Look forward to football season every year and can’t wait to see some of the young guys show themselves. If our line looks notably better on D will be pissed that we didn’t fix it earlier but either way it’s a joy to watch the Big Red!
