Boylan needs a change of philosophy to improve their program. First, has any boylan fans notice the lack of muscular strength of their players. Players don't seem to gain much bulk even though they train all year . Rumor is they don't believe in power lifting and it shows on the field. Players are getting run over and hurt. They look like little kids out there compared to other teams. It's pretty obvious they need a change in their strength training. Secondly, why are they running the spread. Running a one back system is killing their kids. Throwing to slow receivers is not going to help u win games. They don't have the athletes or the depth to run that system. If u look at their entire program down to 7th grade u will find good running backs with kids who can block for them. They should be running an offense similar to hononegah with 3 backs and utilizing misdirection. Right now they are asking kids to do things they are not good at. They have talent but are using these kids the wrong way. Next year they could have Washington, dal santo and Henderson in the backfield if they change there offense. The coach at belvidere north had the guts and smarts to change his offense. Does coach c have the smarts to do the same.

The biggest issue is your coach left and works at an open enrollment public school in town. Which means he gets everyone he wants for free and it is showing.

That has nothing to do with changing your offense to fit your kids. Auburn did get run over by belvidere north. I am talking about running a offense and defense that fits your talent. There is not one coach at boylan that has any background in the spread offense. The head coaches at each level have experience in the wing t and option. Just because you participate in 7 on 7 leagues doesn't mean you are good spread team. Coach c needs to evaluate his program and make his own mark on it.

Totally agree about the philosophy change. The spread-to-run worked when boylan had athletic Qbs that were effective with the read option plays. They usually have a surplus of small, quick backs that would flourish in a 3 back system. Their Defense is a problem too, for the opposite reason. They've gotten too big and slow for the 3-3 stack. They modeled it after the quick LZ teams initially, but have gotten away from it.

I find the pistol wing T interesting. Boylan will have 5 legitimate running threats next year(Dal Santo, Henderson, Nunez, Washington, Rollette), it will be a shame if Cacciatorre doesn't utilize them properly.

They don't believe in power lifting? What do you mean? Are they doing cross fit?
Programs should be doing Bench Press, Squats, Power cleans, Hang Cleans as their base lifts.
If they aren't that's a pretty big issue in my eyes, I would argue, and hopefully most others would argue that teams are made November - July in the weight room and what happens August - November is a result of that. If kids aren't getting Bigger, Faster, Stronger the scheme doesn't matter.

Not entirely. Rockford School District kids go to an assigned school based on where they live. The gifted program for the entire district that kids have to test into is housed at Auburn. The gifted program is actually very highly regarded at the high school, I doubt they are having kids taking the gifted test and allowing them into school based of a poor test score, D205 wouldn't allow that.

However, if a kid moves into the west side of town into an apartment so he can play at Auburn, I can see that happening relatively easily. It's happening there already for basketball.

I think mc140 was talking about the ROTC program at auburn. The weight program at boylan is rumored to be less weight and more repetitions. This is what I have been told by some parents who have kids in the program
