Lunardi has us slotted as #6 seed in East bracket playing at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with regionals in MSG. Could you imagine the uproar from the baby blue faithful if that was our tourney path. They would march on NCAA headquarters & file a motion with the Supreme Court.

Please let this happen!

Bracketology. The word should be banned. It implies some some sort of knowledge, or at least study.. Jerry Palm at CBS is equally worthless. Give me Selection Sunday instead. Yeah, I know, I'm just a cranky old fart who is not interested in wasting what little breath I have left on some fool's projection of the field on January 25th. There: I'm out of breath.

It's pretty pointless, but it's fodder, nonetheless. Lunardi is pretty good at projecting seed lines....so it gives a vague look at where teams potentially stand.

It's impossible to tell at this point; as we have no idea when Amile will get back and how the team will react to his return. I could see this team finishing anywhere from a 3 seed to an 8 or 9 seed. The back half of the ACC schedule is very tough. That will give us a lot of opportunities to either significantly improve our current standing or see our current stock really decline if we don't take care of business. My guess is that we end up around a 5 or 6, with us pulling off a couple tough home wins against Louisville & UVA -- but getting swept by UNC and losing @Miami & @Louisville -- i.e., around an 11-7 season or 10-8 season. Fortunately, a lot of teams we'll be in competition for seeding will have a ton of warts all over their resumes as well.

I hope you are correct but I just don't see it. If you look at the schedule I think 7-11 is fair. We have no idea IF Amile comes back how he will play and his conditioning will be a problem. K has said he has no timetable for return which makes me think more like end of February. We will have 18-19 wins and praying for a couple wins in the ACC Tournament to get us off the bubble and in the big dance. It is what it is, we are not a very good basketball team and Coach K knows that.

By saying 7-11 is fair I think you're taking an extreme pessimistic approach.

Our next game is against Georgia Tech. That's a must win. If we lose that one then I'll start to be more concerned. But I think with the eight days off it comes at a good time for this team. Then if we're able to follow that up with a win at home against State we're 6-4. I wouldn't see us losing seven of the last eight. I just don't.

While Amile isn't going to be in a game shape and will be rusty, even if he's able to give us 20 minutes out of the gate it's still 20 minutes we're not getting elsewhere. Plus, with his return I expect a modest improvement defensively. I still think we're more likely to go 10-8 than 7-11. We'll see.

I kinda like bracketology especially since I'm gonna go to Raleigh this year. Its fun to even think about potenial games. Even my friend (who hates Duke) said a 1 thru 3 seed is gonna be mad on Selection Sunday when they see Duke as a 6 thru 10 seed as a potenial 2nd round game. I still believe in this team!
