I'll go even if the first round is in Kazakhstan.
This. Been telling my friends for nearly 20 years, whenever we make it, where ever we wind up, I'll be there. Wouldn't want to be labeled a liar...

I hear Ulan Bator is beautiful this time of year. Or maybe after the Cats win 2 games we take a detour to the scenic shores of Lake Baikal until the Sweet 16. Which would be where, in Singapore?

Why look at this now? Just important we get in. Too soon for this other than will we or won't we?

I think the problem is so many of us are just not used to this, we have no idea what to do. Same thing with the people talking about traveling. It's a new experience!

The same discussion happens on the football board regarding bowls. Not sure what the problem is

There it is a little more cut and dried. Only certain bowls are in play and it is usually slotted by position in the conference that is often clear. But here lot more BB to be played. 6 more conference games plus BTT and then selection decides whether we even get in, then what is the seed and finally where and who against. Lots more moving parts. Just way too early (well 3 or 4 weeks anyway) to be engaging in all this when no one really has a clue.

It's certainly fun to look at, but it's amusing when people start discussing matchups or potential second-round games, and so forth. Right now I want: first: get in the tourney. very distant second: get a location I can get to. Considering that second thing won't be known for 27 days, it's crazy that people are trying to make reservations right now. I mean I guess you can reserve eight hotels maybe in the hopes that you'll have to only cancel seven of them, but still.

What does Mongolia have to do w Kazakhstan?
I was listing other places (relatively) nearby that one could visit during the course of a trip to Kazakhstan to see the Cats play, obviously (/s). For the record Lake Baikal ain't in Kazakhstan either, its in Russia.

Besides, I don't know any cities in Kazakhstan offhand, and Ulan Bator seemed like a more entertaining reference than going to find a Kazakh one on gmaps.

PS kinda shocked it was you who replied to that and not Fitzphile, corrections of one random aspect of someone's post is often his schtick. He should be ashamed of missing such a *Gobi* opportunity!

(sorry I know stretching for the pun)
