It seems like a relatively minor distinction, but I would much prefer a 4 seed to a 5. I would like to avoid the dreaded 5/12 match-up, in which the double digit seed seems to win about half the time.

Here's the thing....if both UNC and UVA were to get #1 seeds, then it's safe to assume we won't be the #4 in either of those regions. That leaves either Kansas, Villanova or Michigan State as our other options....and I know that's five teams, but I don't really see any others vying for #1's anymore, or are there?

Now, all of that said, we're going to have a lot of work to do just to get to that point. If you tell me right now we're in the second weekend and playing Kansas to go to the Elite Eight I'll ask you where I sign up. I know Kansas is good, but it's not for sure 1) that we even get there, or 2) that we can't beat them. I'd take my chances and let the chips fall as they may.

While I agree I would accept any matchup if we just made it to the sweet sixteen. However IF I had my choice for a sweet 16 matchup, Kansas would be last. Only because of front court depth, much like UNC, Kansas has 4-5 bigs capable of playing heavy minutes, and would most likely wear us down.

We match up excellent with Villanova, they play a similar style to us (4 out, 1 in) and I love the coaching matchup of K verses Jay Wright. Just need to figure out how to get in the bracket up East.
Would be nice if our second weekend was in Louisville, as I will be able to attend.

I didn't say I'd happily play Kansas. ;)

And while I agree that Kansas would give us problems with their size, it's a different kind of size than what UNC has. The Heels, with guys like Johnson, Hicks, Meeks and even Jackson are more skilled than the Kansas bigs....with exception to Ellis. While we would struggle to contain guys like Lucas and Diallo they're less mobile and less offensively gifted than the UNC bigs (again, with exception given to Ellis). But trust me....I do get what you're saying.

I've watched quite a few UVA games & they just don't seem like FF material. Scoring will be a problem when they face a physical team. Heels are FF team, anything short of that is a major disappointment for them.

We are S16 quite possibly E8 team, rest those legs fellas!!!!

We still have the 2nd most McDonald's All Americans in the country. Anything short of a Sweet16 will be disappointing for this guy.

Hey Guys -- are you really trying to project that far into the future to worry about which #1 we would play against in a Sweet 16?! Really?!

I think our odds are about even across the board if we can make it that far. I know our guys will be stretched and close to the end of the rope, but we have a coach and his staff with a team that plays together and listens.

Duke as an underdog? Bring it.

What sucks this year is that I have to fill out two brackets -- my one that I hope happens and the one that I think is going to happen. That is usually just a single bracket.

Lunardi's projection of UNC's part of the bracket is a joke; Oregon as a number two seed? Purdue as a three? You can't get to the final four in that bracket just quit right now

UNC might win it all, but it won't feel right to anyone, including Tarheel nation. That makes me happy. Then there's next year.

Sounds like a pipe dream. Stick to the court where you might have a chance at us!

Stick to your own board where you bash Duke and talk ish and then come here on your hands and knees. Clown.

And yes, UNC will be getting hit pretty hard. It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to figure that out. It sucks for basketball, and it sucks for the rivalry.

They are making this a cake walk for them because the NCAA knows that they will have to take at least 2 maybe 3 banners down. This one would kinda lessen the sting.
