Come on now. Brad Stevens is an elite NBA coach and he coached a mid major to consecutive title games with half the talent we get. Let’s not act like he can’t come to a brand Coach K had built into a national power and win with top tier talent. This is college not the NBA. Plus this will be after the rule change so we won’t be getting these super one and done players anymore
Stevens once said that recruiting is what he least liked about college basketball. His job at Butler was 'easier' than at Duke....by a mile.

This argument is pointless anyway. Stevens isn't going to be the next Duke coach if it's tomorrow, next year, the year after or five years from now. Move on.
You don’t know what will happen with Duke and who will be the next coach. If you did you wouldn’t be here with us. Someone that well connected to the program wouldn’t be here unless you’re a child. So yea. My opinion on who I think should be the next coach. Let’s not get sensitive
You are a Duke “fan” for one reason, and that is coach K. Otherwise, There is a strong chance, we’re Vanderbilt, or Northwestern. Instead, they’re in position to hire a top notch coach, when the reason you are Duke, chooses to retire.

I’m not emotional at all, but I feel that loyalty is important. I don’t agree with your take, making it seems like I am reacting to you in some crazy way, doesn’t make you any more right, or your take any more relevant. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you, it’s just how it is for me.
That’s not biting the hand. I just said I hope he doesn’t extend and we get Brad Stevens. I didn’t say run him out like FSU did Bowden. It’s not personal. It’s business. Sometimes being loyal backfires on you.
@dachampishere2, it seems like you're entire argument is that Brad Stevens is a good coach even with average talent (which I'd agree with) so he'd be all the more amazing at Duke with kids like Bagley, RJ, Zion, etc. But what you seem to be missing is that we get those kids because of K. They want to play for K. As much as I'd love to have Stevens here at Duke, there is no reason to believe we get the same level of talent. There is every reason not to, though.
If that’s the case we need the best possible coach. Coach K will be gone so we won’t get the same caliber of player. So coaching will stand out even more. This makes my point. We need the best coach out there to stay on top

It was changed from “don’t extend him!” to “I hope he doesn’t extend.” Which is different, but I’m sure we can all agree, we all want the best possible coach as a replacement.
