Braised cross cut short ribs on the grill?

Back or anyone, have you ever grilled cross cut short ribs? They're pretty thin so I'll sear them quickly then move to indirect heat for a few minutes. I'm concerned they'll be tough though? Thought about putting them in a traditional wet rub this evening then grilling them tomorrow. I think tenderizing is a must, am I missing something?

Even though they are thin I would think the cook would take more than a few minutes. I would suggest keeping them very wet and cook on indirect heat for a fairly long time...
