I'm surprised the coach disclosed the device he will be having inserted. I'm going to think he will not be able to wrestle again given the defibrillator implant. There is too much stretching, twisting and straining during a high school wrestling match. This increases the risk of the wire leads either being pulled out of the heart muscle or out of the device itself. The risk will become greater if he wrestled in college against bigger and stronger opponents. It's a tough break for Brandon but this device can be a lifesaver if needed. Props to VT for offering to honor his scholarship.

My thoughts go out to Brandon. That’s a lot to go through as a teenager. Very classy by Virginia Tech to honor his scholarship. Hopefully, Brandon has nothing but good health in front of him.
