Another important factor is that Kinney is KY kid

Remember pope preferred Jasper over Mullins mainly because Jasper is KY kid

I bet actually coach team likes Mullins more

Do not think we can get two HS guards in 26 recruiting.
I think you're right and I think we also need to consider that Pope knows or considers that if he's choosing between 2 similar players he will usually lean the Ky side because they will be more content with a loaded roster/competition like we have coming up this year. See Acaden Lewis Decommitment.

If Lowe has a really good year and decides to go pro, we might end up with Crowe and Kinney. We would need two PGs.

I think we will only get two players out of the 26 class.
Holt, Thompson, Crowe, Muurinen, Goosby, Kinney, and Stokes are the primary targets. I'd say you're right probably 2, but possibly 3. Kinda depends on how the upcoming season plays out and who would be leaving.

Probably was never taught how to trip anyone at Washington State, but I’m sure he’s a quick learner.

Why not get and play both at the same time? Just a thought, one can either guard a smaller PF in smaller lineups
Do not have room for two FR guards if Lowe, Chandler (and Jasper) stays

Unless we do not recruit SF in starting lineup and play three guards,

Unfortunately, kids want 30 minutes a game and want assurances they will get that. This mean it is very difficult to have high end depth.

Well unfortunately those kids need to do a little math to determine how many players get 30 minutes per game at a high D1 level, count up how many players are fighting for those spots and then see what percentage of them will actually get it. It might be a little disheartening to learn the battle they are up against.

By the way, I definitely would like to have him. I think he could be as good as Ament. It is just tough when the kid can’t see where they are going to get minutes. Lewis was a perfect example of that.

Duke just got Coward and they seem to think he may be one of the best ever they have ever gotten. Raving about his stats, sounds like he should just go pro now.

It's sort of an odd fit. Him, Foster, and Evans all overlap a lot. Plus they have 6'6 wing Harris and 6'8 wing Khamenia. Someone more like Aberdeen would've been a better fit for them for instance.

Just five or so years ago, Coward and Oweh would have been locks to leave, but NIL and the portal has changed all that. Now players can stay in college and make a lot more than they would going into the draft and likely going second round or undrafted and spending half their careers or more in the G-League.

I, for one, like it. It’s bringing the game back to how it was before the OAD rule, with Junior and Senior dominated teams across the board. Where teams other than Duke and maybe Arkansas don’t try to stockpile 5-star Freshman because they know they can’t hang with the older players.
