We need more than that, we need a great relationship with UPS and business like that. They don’t care about 50M sponsorship deals because they spend that on ads.
Would be great for ups, ford, Toyota to add some nil $, but I don't see that happening. Does uk have someone to find nil sponsors?

The NIL game in college basketball is so far not as crazy as many, including me, expected. There’s no George Steinbrenner going above market for whoever he wants. Currently, NIL seems to work in our favor. I don’t know if it always will.

There was a time when the tobacco and Coal industries would have been massive in the nil game . But they are skeletons of what they once were . The Crafts are big time but back in the day coal and tobacco companies would have been lining up to contribute.
OT but WAY back in my high school days (1968 summer) I worked at one of Bill Sturgill’s strip mines

From what I understand the visit had been canceled but CMP spoke with Mullins father and ironed some things out. So Vic may have been correct “at the time “ .
Just bustin the chaps chops a bit, but he did say he had intel. Either way I don’t care if he post here, nor does he need my permission. Just don’t like rivals coming in stating they got intel.

And you are right, “intel” is good until the moment you hear it then it is old news.

NIL isn't the big issue.

The issue is the instant transfer.

Allow only one instant transfer, regardless of reason.

After that, you sit out a year if you transfer.

Hold these frequent flyers accountable for their decisions.
I agree, a one time transfer should be pushed by every coach. I hope that gets passed soon. I actually liked Cal’s idea that if you don’t transfer you can have a 5th year. That may persuade some to stay to get paid an extra year, or if they need development to redshirt and really get in some growth they need in practice and the weight room.

Question for you Vic . Why isn’t Purdue being considered by him ? Do you know?
No money. Purdue also doesn’t play guys over slow veterans regardless. Playing time etc….Purdue fans will tell you differently. They can’t compete in this NIL world. It will show too. They think they have a shot at Haralson too.

I like the one under grad transfer rule with a grad transfer on top of that. Plus if a coaching change happens you should get a transfer option.

From my understanding that won’t fly. Anything hindering your NIL worth(market value) is off the table. Thats why there won’t be a cap on earnings. It’s an anti-trust ruling by the courts. If only the NCAA would’ve handled business.

Interesting. I would have thought they had a lot of rich alumni and Business owners/managers.

If they can’t get something g like this worked out they will have to operate under a salary cap then. That way schools can’t just buy the best teams and ruin competitive balance. At least the amount schools have to pay them.

and that is the problem, 2 of Kentucky's oldest and most loyal fan base have lost their livelihood. In days past, they would have probably
contributed plenty of $ toward NIOL, but can no longer do so

Is there a world where first year Pope beats:

Calipari, Oats, and UNC for Jasper Johnson

Indiana, UNC, and Calipari for Moreno

Indiana, Hurley, and Duke for Mullins

Calipari, homestate G-Tech, Oats, Scheyer, and Pearl for Wilson

Scheyer, Hurley, and UNC for Lewis?

Yes. Yes there is. That world exists.
We have that group, with Perry, Noah, Garrison, Oweh, Chandler back and get a guy or 3 in the portal and we are starting the season in the top 5. Would be a great (almost Uconn like) group of players. Seasoned, young and full of guys that can do what needs to be done to win at the highest level.

He's a combo guard who mostly played the 2 in high school.
But he plans to play the 1 in college, I believe.

Johnson was recruited to play the 2.

Mullins is being recruited to play the 2 and 3.

I agree that getting Mullins is a long shot, but not because of Lewis. He doesn’t come here because he doesn’t like the fit with Johnson. At least that’s how I see it.

Let's be honest, if you get Wilson, it really doesn't matter what Mullins does in the coming weeks.

I love the kid, but he's not the second coming of Tyler Herro. Very good player. Multiyear. You can find a comparable talent in the portal. I'm not even sure a first-year Mullins would beat out a second-year Chandler for a starting spot.

That's not the case with Wilson. He's unique and projects as an All-SEC level talent. You get him and you've snagged a real one.

Great post and I believe you are spot on. I would love Mullins but I also believe Wilson woukd be special. Whatever happens, recruiting wise, I have a feeling Pope and UK will come out pretty good.

Same with Lewis.

Wilson is the real prize in this class. We need a PF and he could be a star at that spot.

Maybe that’s the reason Yesoifoi canceled his visit. UK maybe selling him on the the guy at the 3 instead. Wilson playing the 4.
I think Yessoufou thought he was worth a bag, and he's clearly not. UK wants to go high rolling on Wilson and Johnson and give the rest a fair-market price. I get the impression that Yessoufou's asking price wasn't worth the NIL investment.

Yessoufou has a name made for highlights but he didn’t really seem like the Pope type. Seemed more like the Calipari type player

Regardless the kid is a good player, he plays hard too. I wish we could have snagged him but it’s on to other options.

I think Mullins is a great fit scheme wise. That’s why he’s so important. I hope we land both him and Wilson but I agree we could get a transfer to fill he role if necessary.

Well???? Braylon was supposed to be at Indiana this weekend, correct? Has he cancelled or rescheduled his Kentucky visit? Any leakage of info yet?
