Bob Stoops is the only person I know of, other than Ben Folds, whose name is also a complete sentence.

And anyway, I'm not an English grammar expert but I bet "Surely not" is not a sentence and instead is a phrase or something. Bob Stoops and Ben Folds each have a noun and verb.

How about the use of words to express mild humor ? .....my guess is that most 'grammar experts' don't demand perfection and can actually enjoy word play.

Ilene Dover is a complete sentence, so is her brother Ben. By retiring suddenly and without warning tells me something is wrong, likely a serious health issue. If there was wrongdoing his OC would not be taking over. If nothing was really wrong he would have waited until after the season.

Darn. I wanted to beat him at Oklahoma.

Who knows why? Could be a Dick Vermiel type situation where after so long, you just bet burned out. It's not like any P5 D1 coach with more than a few seasons needs more $$$$$$$ to retire.

Something tells me he will be at Tennessee, Auburn, A&M, Notre Dame, or school ABC University within a year. I just saw where he is only 56.

His statement says it's not his health as a reason, but could be a family member. But after watching his presser, a very unemotional one, I'd have to say Boren/Boosters finally had enough of "Big Game Bob".
