I don't see UK going to Texas. It's going to be Belk, Liberty or Music City IMO.

A win at UT puts UK in a whole new ball game,(yes pun intended) honestly it is not near as likely as was a win vs UGA but it is still in the conversation. It is a whole different feeling to have multiple things on the line for UK football at this time of year.We aren't world beaters but we have to start somewhere

That's what I think, bowl committees are driven by money, and UK will turn out big for these bowls but a trip to Texas may not register as good a pay day as one of the teams from the Mississippi teams.

Is touch and go if either Mississippi team is bowl eligible. Don't forget, Ole Miss has lost their QB to a knee injury.

Belk, Liberty most likely. Music City, Independence, Birmingham possibilities.

Yep, that is the way I see it as well, assuming we end up 6-6.

MCB would be better off picking someone else, IMO, we have played in Nashville every other year for 80 years, plus FOUR MCB trips and two games against Western Ky, I think a change of venue would be welcome for MCB and for UK fans as well. Has South Carolina ever been to that bowl? Seems like they would be a good fit.

Wake Forest v. UK in Charlotte would be a good matchup.

P.S. A win over UT changes everything, obviously.

It's been 7 years since UK last played a bowl game in Nashville. Also, that bowl has actually upgraded it's status since the last time UK played there. WKU games don't really count because there was next to zero buzz for either of those due to the opponent and not the city.

I just don't see a large volume of UK fans traveling to Charlotte for a bowl game. unless UK ends on a major uptick.

Regardless, I want UK to play in the bowl game that provides the most interesting opponent. If UK would be facing a team like Florida State or Notre Dame in the MCB, I think that changes things. However, if UK could play a team like Texas in the Liberty Bowl, that makes it far more interesting to me.

I hear what you are saying, but Fla State is going to a bigger bowl than the MCB, and Notre Dame is not going to be bowl eligible [and I REALLY hate that!!!! :weary:]

Would love to see UK vs WF in the Belk bowl, I don't recall us ever playing the Deacons. A win over UT and getting to 7-5 might get us to the Gator bowl, that would be great also.

Just read a projection from SB Nation (not sure how credible it is) that has Kentucky vs. Texas in the Liberty Bowl. That would be an interesting matchup to say the least.

Iowa is Stoops alma mater, would be an interesting game, I would probably go to that.
I might drive down for it if it happens. I graduated from both schools and work at Iowa. Would definitely pull for the Cats. I've never been an Iowa fan.
