Rahm crying about the money issues.. isnt a big part of the problem the number of schools?? Just seems insane that there about 60 public/charter high schools in the city with fewer than 600 kids.. LW is closing a school of 1500 kids to save money, CPS keeps opening smaller schools..

Thats a lot of admin/support per school to pay for - akin to the issues regarding affordability of colleges/universities (admin, compliance takes more $, teaching personnel less and less). I predicted that this round, they would have to close actual high schools - so do you roll back the charters or bulldoze the big formerly 2,000+ student white elephants like Wells, Hirsch, and Tilden? Phillips would be on that list were it not for the AUSL intervention and the football fame.
