Nebraska isn't aau either. The college football landscape is changing you either change with it or get left behind.
AAU is nothing but an excuse not to accept the mid tier power 5 schools. If the big 10 can get a big fish on the line they will reel it in. Clemson, Fsu, and ND are the only blue bloods left that are not members of either the Sec or Big 10. Big 10 saying they are waiting on ND is nothing but BS as well. ND can join a conference when ever they feel like it. They aren't on the clock.

ACC waiting on ND as well. But ND will never join the ACC. They are just using them for their Olympic sports to have a house. Blood sucking the ACC just like they did the Big East. Only way they think seriously about joining Big 10 will be when B1G and SEC take teams from ACC.
The B10 is holding a spot open for ND to make a decision prior to moving on. ND has financial contracts with the ACC that they must extricate from prior to being able to join any other conference
I'm not sure which of you win the argument. I guess it's all predicated on how you view Nebraska participating within the B1G conference.
Nebraska was officially accepted to join the B1G in 2010. They then lost their AAU status in April of 2011, and played their first B1G football game in the fall of 2011.
On June 11, 2010, Nebraska applied for membership in the Big Ten and was unanimously approved as the conference's 12th school. Its membership became effective July 1, 2011. Big Ten officials later stated that they had no plans to expand beyond 12 teams in the near future. They lost their AAU before official entry.
After endorsing UNL's entrance into the Big Ten in part because of its strong academics leaders at Wisconsin and Michigan apparently opposed Nebraska's membership in the AAU.

The decision to admit Nebraska to the B1G was made when Nebraska was an AAU member. The effective date of Nebraska's admittance is irrelevant. The decision had already been made and announced before Nebraska was bounced out of the AAU, so it wasn't as if the B1G could just turn around and kick Nebraska out at that point with impunity.
