Dam it, even on here I’m seeing this crap. Bad enough Twitter is FILLED up with it. Now this Husker board is getting some of it.
Uh what? It is a message board for crap sake and very important current events. I mean we had a daily thread for the corona on here.
Yes, a football message board.
I used to come here to get away from the world's problems and distract myself with this silly sport. Now I've been coming on here less and less. If I cared what people's opinions on here were about this stuff I'd follow you on twitter.
With that said, I'll never get tired of arguing about which players from the 80's where overrated and who weren't.
Wow I come here to get a break from the regular news, love the Huskers, but this just a difference of opinion never changing anyone's mind and only leads to 16 page threads of politics.

no joke, it’s where I get some of my football info and it’s next to impossible to get anything right now. It’s FULL of riots, protesters, cops and military. Sorry, that’s not my thing at all.

Agreed, but wildly firing multiple shots over your shoulder is a bit problematic.
Both parties were looking for trouble. The former store tenant and his 68 year old father was looking for trouble by going down there in the first place. And anyone who jumps on the back of an scared racist who had just fired two shots isn't making a good decision either. It's a senseless tragedy.
Socialism and a police state is not the answer. We need to reverse our move toward socialism.
Here's the deal for me and the FOOTBALL team. I feel for our players. I know to some degree how they feel and how at times some people might treat them. MOST of the fear and prejudice is caused by the kind of scenes we're seeing acted out on TV right now. You've got a tiny percentage of people notably many are not black, acting like thugs. Unfortunately the worst video I see of the beatings and looting all have involved black people. Its truly heart breaking because I know this hurts my niece and nephew (a Missouri cop) and their children. I understand that when a group of black athletes go to a mall or a store they might be looked upon suspiciously until people realize who they are. Even I have those gut reactions even though I have black friends and family. That's life. When I'm dirty and grungy from being at the farm all day, I get treated differently than when I drive up in my "good" vehicles and step out in decent clothes. I can only imagine what an athlete with dreads feels like at times. The problem is that THIS HASN'T HELPED. It's been extremely damaging to race relations.

And what started it all was George Floyd getting arrested for allegedly using a $20 counterfeit bill. You've all seen the pictures and maybe the video of what happened later. But here is the police report to the media BEFORE a video surfaced:

A suspected money forger had 'physically resisted' arrest. And after police managed to get him into handcuffs, the officers 'noted he appeared to be suffering medical distress.'”

Officer Chauvin: "Well Chief, all I was doing was kneeling there trying to help by partner handcuff him. And trying to use a $20 counterfeit bill is a serious crime, you know!"
