I didn't get an opportunity to actually watch the game, but the offensive output of RU was certainly a bit of a jolt to see. The first half must have been something. Although the lead did increase in the second half, it also seemed to be more balanced with FDU doing better. Was this do to RU taking its foot off the gas or did FDU just play better?
So, was this a breakout game which will hold benefits for the future or just a one and done thing?

It was Men against boys!!! Our talent was better than their talent at every position and our bench. Our guys got their shots up easily and actually made some of them. Coreyand Geo are developing great chemistry as Geo has developed great chemistry with the rest of the team as well, which is awesome since he is a freshman. Geo dominated yesterday .

Breakout game for Thiam...seeing him drive to the basket was nice to see. His rebounding may just be the biggest surprise of the year for this team.

Thiam rebounding was not a matter of if, but a matter of when!

Being 6 9, you know Thiam himself ,coaches, and fans would ask a little more from him in that regard.

I like how Sanders did not force the action. So many times he pulled the ball out where he normally would have forced the action to try and make a play. This allowed him to pick his spots to make good plays.

The fact that he did not force anything against an inferior opponent is a really good sign.

Much of the breakout was due to the competition. Baker is beginning to separate himself as our best player.

I agree that Thiam had the breakout game with a near double-double because unlike the others his height and length advantage should remain even when the opposing talent significantly increases.

It's a matter of translating the performance and being able to get off (and make) similar shots against the longer, more athletic teams we'll face.

I've seen Thiam turn down opportunities to drive most of the year...he first made some moves to the basket against top BIG 10 team MSU and it it is continuing.

Doing it against MSU is probably what is giving him the confidence...that and probably film study by coaches showing him the open spots available.

Agreed. Next year’s development will be a post up game and driving pull up jumper. He could make a living with that vs smaller teams.

Will Geo Baker now be the regular PG, with Corey moving to SG? One can hoped--as Chow said, Geo seems to be emerging as the best player on the team. Will have to see how he fares in conference competition. Would guess his numbers will be uneven, but he is only a freshman.

This was a game that would have been a toss up three years ago. (Believe we lost to them and saint peters a few years back).

We are now good enough to run these types of teams out of the gym and it feels great!

That being said I wouldn’t read to much into the performance. It was men amongst boys.

And on the other side, if I’m FDU’s Noah Morgan, after shooting like he did against Rutgers defense, I would may consider transferring up after this season, that kid can shoot, lol.

Agreed. As I said to my wife as we left the RAC, “Eddie Jordan’s team would have definitely beaten this FDU team . . . . By three points!” ;)

Before we call Geo the best player on the team let's wait for a few more games vs. better competition.

If you look at his game logs he has been 2 different players. The 3 tier A teams he hasn't been good.

Corey drives me crazy sometimes, but I am not ready today on this basketball team to say that he isn't the best and most valuable player on the team.

My definition of a breakout game is defeating a team like Seton Hall where you are the underdog.
