I am expecting and hoping he has a big year as he’s shown some great flashes of what he can do. He’s perfect size at 6’4 and 265/270? Not sure but he’s got all the tools to be an explosive player for Iowa this year. Plus the upcoming talent from some of the DE’s also excite me as we need some explosive DE’s to get to the qb often.

Hurkett and Llewellyn are gonna be good. It will be nice to have Allen and Eppy getting at it too. Everyone will be fresh.

Probably Epenesa, too. On third-and-long Iowa frequently brings in fresh legs at DE and moves starting DEs inside.

On 3rd and long, and some 2nd and long, you might see hurkett move to DTackle, Allen at the Right DEnd and Llewellyn at left DEnd. Phil has done that many times. I think Van Ness played both DTackle and DEnd in many games.

I hope to see Allen using low stance and leverage on pass rushing downs and most downs to use his strength to explode thru and around OTackles. I cant remember now if he is mainly a speed pass rusher or has developed several other moves with his hands and arms
