How much credit does James get for developing our 2 bigs. Nobody expected Young to be as productive as he is--most of the credit goes to the kid but anyone know how much James has to do with this? Similar to Nance, the first off-season where he seriously committed to improving (per his own words), is this the James effect? Can he be our Doc Hankwitz for bball bigs?

Tons of credit. Olah improved, Pardon turned into a force, Young playing above expectations, all due to Brian.

Collins must go...

And let James continue to work up our bigs.

What is Jared Jones up to?

Young is playing about as well as I had expected, but yeah, James has been great (and not just with the bigs).

Young is way outpacing my expectations. Young appeared to be a project/reach with sub-par athleticism for the big ten but he's got the best post moves reminiscent of Esch and he almost requires a double-team in the post even against elite big men--and we run our offense through him when he's on the floor. And he's only a soph!

Young was that way (skilled center play) in high school. IMO, the question was whether his post-game was nifty enough to overcome questions about his athletic ability. Working against Dererk Pardon undoubtedly helped his transition to college play. Nance and Young are combining for 19.5 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 3.75 assists per game. Not at Garza's level, but not bad productivity out of the center position.
