Notre Dame lost games against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field and contests with traditional rivals USC and Stanford last week when the Big 10 and Pac 12 both decided to move to a conference-only schedule. As of today, those two are still the only power five conferences to make a move to conference-only through the ACC, SEC, and Big 12 are all expected to make similar moves shortly.

As we all know, Notre Dame has a unique relationship with the ACC, given its football independence. “We’ve had a collateral relationship in football with the ACC; all of our other sports are in the ACC, so that relationship has been a 6-game schedule. So, we have six,” Kelly explained to Greenberg before also making it clear that the ACC is working with Notre Dame on potentially filling its schedule.

“Certainly, Jack (Swarbrick) has been in communication with (ACC) commissioner (John) Swofford about adding games to our schedule,” Kelly said. “I think those are ongoing negotiations. We feel confident that the ACC would look towards augmenting those games for us, and as you know, there’s a large inventory of games out there.”

This is more proof the ACC is doing the same as Big East did. Kissing Notre Dames butt and bending over backwards for them.

It also tells me thee acc is a poorly ran conference that didn’t learn from the Big East It is like having a partner in a corporation who can set up their own deals on the side. That typically ends eventually and growth of the whole suffers.

I always respected the SEC where the exit fee is $1 million (might as well be zero) and everyone gets the same share and abides by the same rules. It’s probably why it’s the strongest conference. Well that and they pay athletes the most with their higher salary cap.

Screw ND. I'm sick of how they think they don't have to join a conference. Let 'em reap what they sowed by thinking they are so elite and so admired that they can do anything they want.

I agree with you. But it's unfortunate that other colleges don't see it that way. Except for Big 10, Big 12 who said all or nothing.
