Listening to Liberal Sports Radio... The host brings up Brian Williams... For those that don't know about the Brian Williams helicopter fiasco,... A cut and paste below/research the story your ownself... So the radio host posited the question; how'd Brian go from from being safe in one chopper to being in the one knocked out of the sky by RPG and small arms fire? Listening to the responses from the three was interesting... I know I get confused sometimes and and tell people I was on USAir1549 (Sullenberger flight) when really I was just on a US Air flight... How could I get that confused??? Oh hell, the planes I fly fall out of the sky all the time... It's easy to get them confused.....

I'll tune in tomorrow and get a sensible accounting of events when Kentucky Joe calls in....

WASHINGTON - NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams admitted Wednesday he was not aboard a helicopter hit and forced down by RPG fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a false claim that has been repeated by the network for years.

WTF is "Liberal Sports Radio"? ...I'm going out on a limb and assuming KSR.

Not to excuse BW's mischaracterization but I would think being in a group of helicopters where one of the aircraft in your group is shot down is just a bit more harrowing than simply taking a helicopter ride.

By the way...was the network liable for Williams lie or was Williams?
I will say I was unaware of Williams claim so I'm not really sure how many times the false claim was made.
Regardless, what does "liberal" have to do with this? Are you claiming that only liberals would make such claims? Would you like me to supply you with a list of infamous falsehoods made by more right leaning individuals and organizations???

Am I missing something? What does the story about Brian Williams, and Matt Jones commenting on it, have to do with being a liberal?

Instead of talking about the Brian Williams lie, you use your post to rail on KSR and Matt Jones?

Some of you people are just bizarre.

We can make fun of KSR any day. The possibilities are endless. But it isn't often you get such a good chance to skewer a network anchor.

Sounds similar to the story Hillary told about receiving fire and ducking for cover on the Tarmac in Bosnia and then the video of the event showed her walking normal with nothing going wrong. She later had to recant and say that she misspoke.

I like Brian Williams, but I'm sure he and/or NBS will concoct some sort of weird reason for why he told that lie. He probably has PTSD or something now, I would imagine. or seeing his daughter lez out on TV made his brain get all scrambled.

I hope he comes out of it fairly unscathed. Seems like a good dude.

If Sean Hannity lied and I commented about it, it wouldn't have anything to do with him being a conservative or Fox News. People of all persuasions tell lies. I have no problem with anyone attacking Brian Williams over telling a lie. I'm asking what "liberal" has to do with this lie?

You can't compare Brian Williams to Sean Hannity. Brian is on of the most, if not the most, respected news anchors on TV.

This incident will definitely make him lose some of that....and it should.

Even his "apology" was a lie. He said he was on a "following" flight...creating the impression he was following closely behind the chopper that downed, and saw it.

Actually it now comes out he was at least an hour behind...nowhere even close to being involved or seeing it.

1. What's worse are = verb tenses do not agree
2. Grammatically = misspelled
3. Self-promote and low-esteem need to be hyphenated

Some of you older posters may remember when Williams commanded the ill-fated Apollo 13 crew that suffered a mission-ending, near-fatal explosion en route to the moon...

Thank you Butt-Head. But, I believe you missed the point, or perhaps it just hit home. Either way, thanks for the english class. By the way, I did get a laugh out of it.

It's safe to say that once you are caught in a lie as big as this it is going to be extremely difficult to gain back your reputation of being a trustworthy news source/reporter. Could be career ending for him but I am sure the liberal media will rally around him.

Anyone who watches NBC or MSNBC for news is either easily duped or just a blind follower of their agenda.

There are two kinds of people that military folks can't stand. Draft dodgers and people that lie about their combat experience to try and get respect or status.

Williams lied and he did it willingly. Kept lying about it for 12 YEARS. Shameful to those that did serve and face real combat.

Yes, a lighthearted attempt at humor (note the Ludwig Von Mises meme and quote for Stable31... I remember he's a fan) is low self esteem manifested. If I wanted to grammar police, I would have done so without the meme. Sorry for trying to have fun. Have a great day and be well.

My mistake, perhaps a little slower on the gun and more on the pun would be better. Greeting returned.

^ np. Internet is a weird place, and I've yet to see a sarcasm or light-hearted font. I'm stealing "slower on the gun and more on the pun" as a phrase, btw.

I'm sure there are some, and I'd like to hear them, if they're on the level of:

Brian's RPG'd helicopter "mischaracterization"
Edwards saying it's not his baby
Dan Rather saying W. Bush was AWOL
Hillary saying they were broke when they left the WH
Hillary saying she dodged sniper fire in Bosnia
Bill saying I did not have sex with that woman
Hillary saying it was Right Wing Conspiracy that made Bill do it
BO's if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor
Pelosi saying have to pass bill, to find out what is in bill
Reid's word is out that Mitt doesn't pay taxes
Sharpton's... well, just about everything he says

Please don't say 2000's Bush Administration's Iraq-WMD assertion,
without bringing up:
1990's Bill Iraq-WMD assertion
1990's Hillary Iraq-WMD assertion
1990's Gore Iraq-WMD assertion
1990's Kerry Iraq-WMD assertion
1990's Reid Iraq-WMD assertion
1990's Pelosi Iraq-WMD assertion

TIA

Hey remember when the plane that Williams's rugby team chartered crashed into the Andes mountains and they had to eat each other to survive...
