Where I’m located, the sun did in fact come up this morning. 🙂
And even though the Nits are going through a rough patch, those of us who are NFL fans have a full day of football ahead.
As a native born Philadelphian and lifelong fan of the World Champion Eagles, I’m looking forward to them getting back on track today.
At least I hope so.
As a fan, what other choice is there? 🤔

I was thinking about the players, how painful it is for them to give up their dreams of another playoff run. But this is life. A lot of the most valuable experiences in life involve some pain. You don't want to go through pain but sometimes 20 years later you look back and you're glad you had that experience. The players have each other and hopefully they can just enjoy being teammates and enjoy playing football. The pressure's off now, they should just go out and play with abandon and have fun.

We as fans should appreciate them -- a lot of great players on this team now getting ready for the NFL. And a lot more great players getting experience and building skills for their future college career - whether that be at PSU or other places.

Once PSU has a quality coaching staff in place, players will follow. PSU will be back fairly quickly -- maybe not next season but the season after almost certainly.

The team really should take it 1 game at a time. Their record at the end of the year is going to be ugly, highly likely to be a losing season, so don't worry about the season. Just hope for success in each game.

I think this team will probably lose most or the remaining games but they may not. If a few of the injured players on D get back in the lineup, if Grunkmeyer catches fire, this is a dangerous team that could beat some people. They had enough talent to beat Iowa at home, they just didn't get it done.

I’m guessing you’re in for a long football season in both college and the NFL. Since the Eagles have decided they don’t need Barkley to win, they’ve been pretty bad and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better.

Another bright spot: If we would have won last night there is a good chance we would have ended up 7-5 and bowl eligible. If so, we would likely have been invited to a garbage bowl like the Pinstripe. Here in Western Pa there is already talk about us playing the pitters in a minor bowl. That would be a disaster. The pitters would treat it as their Super Bowl -- their biggest game in years. Penn State players would treat the game as crap and most likely our potential NFL draftees (Allen, etc.) would all opt out. We would be playing the pitters with our worst players while the pitters would be jacked up. There is a good chance we would lose that game. That would put the cherry on top of the worst season of Penn State football in memory. A loss to the pitters after what we have been through already would be too much to take.
