Let's say we finish the season 7-6 with a crap bowl win or even 6-7 with a crap bowl loss. That is obviously much better than 4-8, but is it "good"? I don't think most fans would say that result is perfectly acceptable forever.

Next season, assume Sellers, Harbor, Bennett, Black and Tuggle are gone. Will an OC who directed a 6 win season be able to reload for 2027? RB should be fine and the WR room won't be empty. OL will be another total rebuild and QB will be new no matter what. I don't see any budding stars on the roster ready to step in and take the reins. Is Briles good enough to equal or improve on this season?

This is psychic stuff. Briles very well could be a one-off. A specialist they brought in for Sellers to calm him down about his future following the Shula disaster. He might not have designs about staying in Columbia longer term. He's got a three-year contract but the buyout is pretty low if he wants the HC position somewhere. (ala Loggains). If the season turns bright, I hope we try to lock him in with a favorable raise.

At this point, just consider each season a rebuild. We dont know who stays or leaves.

Somethin’ smells fishy here. I think he’s a Pisces working for scale.
