McIlroy officially out of British. Guess i will go with Johnson and Jason Day.

"Todd Lewis provided an update on Jason Day for the reporter's followers on Twitter today.

Lewis wrote, "Spoke to @JDayGolf about his vertigo. Diagnosed with viral infection that's attacking inner ear nerve. On meds and feels ready for @TheOpen." This was one of the suspected causes for Day's problem, but he couldn't pinpoint it. No doubt we'll learn more about his health as we get closer to the season's third major. Day survived the second round of the U.S. Open and finished T9. His best finish in four starts at The Open Championship is T30 in 2011 at Royal St. George's."

OT but played a round near Mount Pleasant Michigan today. Started on the back 9 because there was a ladies league already in progress on the front. My question is this, and the answer is obviously no in Kentucky and Michigan, but is there a frigging place on this planet that women golfers don't suck or are slow as mother scratching heck? WTF I finished the back and had to watch until number 5 on the front before they got their 9 holes in and went to the clubhouse.

Have never in my life seen a decent woman golfer besides the LPGA.

Not sure what this even means...Spieth played because the John Deere holds a special place in his heart since they gave him an exemption as an amateur and the following year he won his first tournament there...He is doing what he did for the other majors and not changing up his routine...He committed to playing so he felt like playing was the best option for him and wouldn't hurt him at the Open Championship...Not sure what is so difficult to understand.

It is far from certain that Spieth wins 10 majors but at this point it seems more likely than not that he does...He has one of the best all around games on tour...He isn't the longest but he doesn't really have many weaknesses...His putting game is incredible. He along with a few others will carry the tour into the future and be the backbone for US golf for years to come.

At this point, I don't see how you can pick anyone but Spieth. He may not win but to not pick him based on the quality of golf he has played all year long is kind of stupid if you ask me...I was really hoping for a Spieth/McIlroy showdown on Sunday coming through the Road hole and across the Swilken Bridge coming up 18 tied with the Championship on the line...Oh well, hopefully we get to see it at the PGA Championship.

Spieth is the real deal. I hope he can keep it up. Right now he and Jason Day are my favorite golfers. Stay classy Jordan.

--I like a lot of euros/int'l because of their shot shapes. They tend to be flatter and more rotary than us players, for the most part. McIlroy, sergio, rose, westwood, cabrera, etc. Should have put mahan on the list. Love his swing too.

--Don't really understand why they made a lot of recent changes to a freaking 500-yr-old golf course. Especially the gd road hole bunker. :flush::uzi:

Course looks green and seems to be 'easy' by St. Andrews standards from what I've watched.

DJ is my guy, he could go bonkers out there, as could several others.

DJ
Oostie
Koepka
Victor D

...those are my 4 in ABH's buddy's $21,000 A/B/C/D pool.

2 euros and a Euro tour guy. Now you're learning. I still like fleetwood to be up there with oosthuizen.

DJ was a little (insert correct word for this statement here) in interview room this week:

When asked what Johnson thinks of Spieth's Grand Slam chances this year, DJ deadpanned, "I'm playing in the next two, so we'll have to see."

So you base your favorite golfers on how flat their swing arcs are?

Seems about right for your weird ***.

Yes. I base my favorite players on, among other things, how natural/pure they are. Just like in baseball with whiffey jr, cabrera, a-roid before he was proven to be a pos, stanton, 73's boy Harper, etc.

Correct.

Must rank them based on number of waggles they take pre-shot. (except Sned) Guessing he loves some Kevin Na

Halfway listening to Live From in the background. They said weather is coming and will likely affect the field, depending on whether you are in the morning or afternoon wave (like 2010, and many other years). Woo hoo, luck of the draw. [eyeroll]

Just one more reason The Open is my least favorite major.

3am tee times suck too, for anyone not named Mike or Randall.

I loved that comment. I like DJ, not a huge fan, but that comment made me like him more.

Been ever better if he had been more assertive about but still out there by PGA standards.

Having a hard time naming all of these past champions. Who are the two guys between Cink and Duval on the back row? Also cannot tell which one is Hamilton and Curtis. Jack did not make the trip, but Arnold did?

Arnie was also at the Hall of Fame ceremonies that was held at St Andrews.
