It really bothers me that taxpayer funds will have to foot the bill for State Department folks to do something with this

I know when I was overseas the words “the secretary will disavow any knowledge…” seemed to come up on occasion. However, I do not have any recorded proof to share. 😁

seriously though, we were told to not eff around with local laws or customs.

I will add that anyone that is dumb enough to travel to China, North Korea or Russia or countries like them is really asking for trouble anyways. If you are dumb enough to go there for any purpose you best respect all of their crazy rules and laws every day and twice on Sunday, whether that is work or vacation. I get she was working there, but she had to know doing what she did was an unnecessary risk in Russia, especially with current world state of affairs.
