Here’s the thing. Iowa just beat a middle of the pack SEC team and it was on to the next game and Bennett Stirtz was great. TCU just beat a middle of the pack SEC team (I don’t care that they are defending national champions) and it’s like we need to crown them?!? Harding had a lot of assists and shot it terribly.

The grass is always greener. Sure hope McCollum has 20+ wins every season and a Sweet 16 appearance in his first couple years or the fair weather fans will be out in full force.
I love satire! This is a 10/10 post, well done!

I don’t think anything wrong being curious to see how they do at their new schools. I’ve checked Creighton box score most of their games so far.

At his presser McCollum called out by name Koch, dix and pryce by name who he wanted to keep. Personally only other guy I wanted to keep was Dix.
I’m on record saying the only must have for me was Koch! Glad we have him. The rest? Meh.

I've come to believe that basically the entire team moving on might have been for the best in a way, since Ben has all of HIS guys right away in year 1. Not that some of last year's players couldn't have been able to contribute, but there are no culture clashes between the new players and the holdovers.

100% a clean break was most definitely needed.

Just waiting for @BringBackBradBanks to post how bad Wisconsin must be for Brock Harding to get 16 points and 5 assists to lead TCU again today in their victory.

TCU sucks pretty badly with wins over Florida and Wisconsin and a last minute loss to Michigan, who looks like the best team in the country.

Isn’t this like the worst Wisconsin team in a decade, picked to finish in the bottom half of the big ten?!? Congrats!! Let’s see how they do against the Big 12. 5 turnovers too!!!! 🤷‍♂️

Last years players were good quality players. The system they were in may have been fun but its was a poor system that exposed their weaknesses. I would have loved to have kept Dix and Sandfort. Both I thought could have thrived in McCollums system. Freeman is a one way player. Harding isn't the steady hand at PG you need during a long B1G season.

Watched a fair amount of the Wisky game. Harding was on the court all the time and looked pretty good. Didn't see a lot of outside shots falling or driving into the lane and dishing, the things I always wanted from him but he got interviewed after for his efforts.

All good points. Water under the bridge, but I think Harding as a backup to Stirtz at point with two more years of growth could have been a contributor. Dix and Sandfort at the two makes this year's team a real contender because the weakness of this squad is gonna be their scoring ability.

Harding was never ever going to be an understudy to Stirtz, he wanted starters minutes and he knew that was not going to happen under McCollum. I think he's happy where he is.. It took him a few games to get his feet under him but he's showing now that he's a capable P5 point guard that has some defensive limitations because of his height. A great kid that works his a$$ off to overachieve.

Bizarre to keep talking about former players. I'm willing to bet many were asked to stay but chose to leave anyway. They're gone, move on.
And while we're at it, no more Murray threads, or Luka or Lester or Lute. That should keep Beer Stopper happy

That’s a pretty dumb comparison. Guys that left as Hawks to play pro ball is not equivalent to guys leaving to play at another college. I don’t really care if there are threads about harding/freeman/sandfort/any others…but let’s not compare that to checking in on former Hawks playing in the NBA or overseas.

I loved the kid's attitude and crafty play. Why wouldn't he want to understudy to a top ten draft pick NBA point guard for the year with two remaining years at the helm?..I guess he told us why, but not sure it was the right decision for him.

I only saw the last ten minutes and overtime. Harding didn’t play for a long stretch but played pretty well. Had some nice layups and shots. Did a lot of the drive to the lane with no plan, pick up his dribble, and look for help like at Iowa.

Leading the BXII in steals per game, 12th in the country. Has cleaned up his A:TO ratio as well (which wasn't bad to begin with, just not Gesell, JBo, CMac level we were accustomed to having in that role). Glad to see him doing well just wish it was still in black and gold.

I’ve watched Harding play once and TCU is probably a bubble team. Can’t believe they lost that game to Kansas Is Harding really shooting the ball as badly as the stats say? 39% from the field, 26% from the three, and 58% from the line is Connor McCaffrey type numbers.

None of those numbers are anything near what Connor averaged at Iowa.

Are you guys still that butt hurt that you’re just making **** up now?

I don't have any ill-will towards Harding, Dix, Sandfort, and others except for Freeman who quit on the team. Who honestly cares how they do outside Iowa? Maybe Sandfort stings a little since we play Nebraska, but otherwise IDGAF.

Look up his stats in 2020/2021. They were the exact same, except Connor shot 32% from the field. It’s fine. You’ve probably blocked that season from your memory like me after our starting guards got outscored 63 to 0 by Oregon in the ncaa tourney.

TCU looks like a tourney team when they play their best players. Iowa State was able to expose Harding and Dixon kept putting him back in the game for some reason.
