Big difference between priorities of life putting kids first compared to your job. If I was a ceo and I promoted my kid over someone who deserved it more for an upper management job I’m doing not only myself a disservice but the entire company and other employees who work for me including my kid. Because odds are other person makes the company better, more profitable, etc
I think that’s the point with Fran people make is his kids playing more than Many thought and ahead of certain guys it wasn’t beneficial to Iowa b-ball. Like pmac starting over Kris his soph yr. I think it funny, Brock has been extremely inconsistent this year, last night, zero points just 4 assists, played just 17 minutes, yet TCU beat the great Iowa State by 7, 62-55. Go figure! I have no idea why Brock is so tentative shooting the ball, but he defiantly plays scared, aired balled a 3 pointer last night, never seen him do that before, he's a one dimensional point guard that can't shoot and it may be the reason TCU ends up playing in the Crown tournament and not the NCAA tournament.
When he was on the bench, TCU was getting the better of ISU pretty bad....when he was in, ISU would close the gap. Just not a good P4 point guard....would be better suited playing down a level.
You're right - Kris Murray should have been the starting point guard/primary ball handler as a freshman. No doubt. JFC.
Brock seems to be doing just fine beating Iowa State in the Big XII, yet somehow he’s not a B1G level player.

Yea. Brock was awful last night. You didn’t watch the game. Game was tied, he went to the bench. TCU goes on a big run and takes the lead by 8 to 10 points. Brock comes back in, ISU takes the lead. Brock goes to the bench again, TCU pulls it out.

He didn't beat ISU, TCU did. Whenever he was in, ISU kept closing the gap. He's not a P4 player.
I commented in the "Other Games" thread as I watched it that while Brock was on the bench, TCU gained a 9 point lead. Then, when Dixon switched the lineup with Brock back in, that lead shrunk quickly. Brock didn't look good offensively, and got beat off the dribble a couple of times.
You should try something else because you aren't worth a damn at posting on message boards.
From reports I read they're lucky they kept brock on the bench a lot of the game or they wouldn't have won.

He's been the starting PG and has lead his team to bigger victories than Iowa has had all season (#5 ISU, #10 Florida, even beat Wisconsin). I watched the game, he didn't shoot well.. but was also thrown grenades several times in late shot clock situations where he just had to heave it up to avoid shot clock violations. But he's not asked to score, he's there to setup their offense and deliver the ball. He had 12 assists in that Florida win.
By this line of thinking Deacon Hill and Brian Ferentz “led” their team to 10 wins in 2023.

Brock obviously wouldn't start at Iowa this year, but he'd probably get more PT than that with Stirtz sliding over to the 2.

Harding was neither exceptional nor a hindrance in the TCU win over the Clowns.
His stats speak for themselves all year. Can’t shoot or defend but he can pass.
As a point guard you should be aware of the shot clock and get your offense in motion instead having to heave the ball up and hope for the best.

For those that didn't think that Brock Harding wasn't good enough to be a D-1 point guard, he just led TCU into the NCAA Dance with a record better than Iowa's. They beat Florida, Wisconsin, Baylor twice, Kansas, Iowa St, & Texas Tech. He played pretty good for a perceived D-2 guard.
I liked Brock. Unfortunately he became tied to Fran and his program. I also liked Fran, initially. That wore off after a couple years of his shitshow defense philosophy. Now I hate pretty much everything about him, his coaching, and his whole family. I still like Brock and hope he does well at TCU.
He “led” TCU to the tourney shooting 28% from 3, 37% from the field and 64% from the line? And that’s probably getting a lot of open looks. Haven’t watched them play in a month. TCU has done better than expected but if he was the point guard at Iowa playing major minutes, we’d be in a world of trouble this year. Can’t shoot or defend, but can facilitate. He probably would have been an upgrade to Connor in Luka’s last year tho because at least Harding can create for others. Connor couldn’t shoot, create, or defend.

Granted he's a terrible shooter for some reason, he was real good in high school, but he does everything else you would want a point guard to do at the D-1 level.
