Go Cats schtick may have run its course.I'd be shocked if he wasn't offered the PU job (or maybe even the NW job)
NW isn't coming open lol. They passed him over once but in all reality I just can't see us being able to compete with Purdue $$$ and his background there - plus I think his wife;s family is there too and he has a daughter as a student. Couldn't blame him if that was the case. But if NW job comes open, he just may jump there too. He has a really nice Midwest and Florida/Texas pipeline for the Birds so he just might be able to get PU back to .500ish each year.
That's great to hear - I know he's always been appreciative of ISU for giving him his first HC job and the town and the student body love the guy (as do the alums) - The Stasch is epic. With what you said the only schools that might be able to lure him would be PU based on his being an alum and a former All Big 10 LB there. He gets a nice check from ISU and I would suspect he'll get another $50K-$100K to keep him around but ISU just can't compete with a school that says here's $750K plus camps, etc and you're at $1MM. Still you never know, he's got a nice thing there but then again I never thought Bohl would leave NDState for Wyoming. (granted winning 3 in a row under his belt and I am sure he was like ok done that been there what's next)I think the Purdue job would be too tempting for him also. However, take this for what it's worth, perhaps it's pure rhetoric, but my son went on an unofficial visit to ISU week 1 and when Brock Spack spoke it was evident he loved the Bloomington-Normal area. He said the reason he loves coaching ISU is he wants to win championships. His words were: "You can't do that at Purdue, you can't do that at Illinois, and you can't do that at Northwestern. Only Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn St. could win one ". He even said MSU couldn't. He wants to be able to win a championship and he feels he will at ISU. If Purdue comes calling that can all change and quite frankly I wouldn't blame him. We were very impressed with him and the visit.
