I don't like it for him for a few reasons:

1. Their administrative position looks like a dumpster fire. So you were hired by who? An Athletic Director without any clout within his own University? A cadre of people who shouted down a hire 48 hours ago?

2. And since they did that...do you have absolute power over determining your staff? That group is emboldened by their newfound clout. They don't like Nick Holt because he lacks the big name cache they seem to crave in a coordinator?

On the other hand...coaching at Western Brohm knows the navigation of recruiting Central Tennessee which is something the bulk of his Tennessee predecessors couldn't say.

If this is true, I wish him nothing but the best. I was hoping one day he could end up at the Ville. Anyhow, Tennessee will become my 2nd favorite college football team behind the Cards. It will be fun watching the the Orange destroy u k . I had a blast last Saturday.

A deal is currently not imminent, per Bozich and Bruce Feldman. I mean, if UT flubs this one...

All info coming from UT. Picture just posted on Twitter from 12:09 PM with JB in Hopkinsville Kentucky in the home of a purdue commit. Not so fast volunqueers.

Lololol!
Phil Fulmer come out of retirement if what I read ten minutes ago was true.
AD offered Brohm, deal accepted. AD then reported to chacellor of UT who said deal was crazy, including buyout, so offer less. AD got back with Brohm on LOWER figure, Brohm declined.

Watch toyour southeast boys. That light you see may be the UT campus burning.

Story goes Brohm accepted UT's offer. When the AD went to the chancellor for approval, chancellor said no because offer included Brohm's $5M buyout. AD goes back to Brohm with lesser offer, Brohm turns them down. UT now on to Doeren.

UT denies this, btw.

Didn’t Brohms buyout drop $1 million after Dec 5th? Maybe that wouldn’t have made a difference or they couldn’t wait.

Yeah that whole story was totally made up. Trying to cover their asses I’d guess.

I totally believe that. After trying to tie Schiano to the Sandusky stuff we all now know that UT will say ANYTHING in regards to this search.

It was funny because Brohm never met with the UT folks and was clearly out recruiting all day. Don’t think there were ever any serious discussions between Brohm and UT. If you want to see some funny stuff on twitter, check out Jimmy Hyams. That stuff is gold.

Agreed, the tragic defamation of Schiano's well-documented excellent character aside (ps - I hope he sues them for this), a lot of funny stuff has come out of this.

"Mike Gundy offered by UT. He will mullet over."

And all the stuff on Twitter about Kim Jung Un turning down the UT is hilarious.

Believing any coach or media member is right up there with believing a politician is honest.

Bottom line is UT athletics is broken everywhere.

I saw this and came over to post it but see you beat me to it!

For all you lurking Vols, what is Derek Dooley doing these days? Do you think he would come back?

Seems the fan base want Kiffen back.
Guess they forget he was a seven win coach in one year and his hall of fame dad won't be with him.

Could you imagine if he comes back for a year and then bolts for greener pastures again? That’d be amazing.

Tennessee will hire Ron Cooper, Steve Kragthorpe, John L. Smith or even Rick Pitino to coach football!

Tennessee is a great job. What else could a new coach want. Great facilities, 100,000 plus capacity at games, a fan base that would worship anyone decent after putting up with Schmoes like Derek Dooley, Lane Kiffin and Butch Jones. They also reside in the SEC East which is also where lightweights reside like UKay, Missouri and Vandy along with teams like USC junior, down trending Florida and The perennial threatening but championship failing Georgia.

Still glad J Brohm gets another year to pick his spot.

So now, Tennessee has no athletic director....until 3 pm when Phil Fulmer becomes either interim or full ad.

Some of the talking heads are chirping if Fulmer is AD, a lot of the previous no may become yes.
THATS when Currie goes for the lawsuit. Schiano, Brohm and reportedly Leach all said yes....then the Chancellor said no.
If one of those guys gets the gig....watch out.
