What a total POS . That ***** wouldn’t have lasted a year playing against the Detroit bad boys etc..
No doubt

"Soft tissue injuries" today?

Lol - Let's all imagine this guy going down the lane and finding Laimbeer and Mahorn. Laimbeer would clothesline him and Mahorn would body check him into the floor for some extra MPH going down. Then the Celtics would come in and McHale would headlock him as he tried to go up for a put-back lay up.

Soft tissue injuries... This guy has reached la-la land.

I want to be clear. I have never liked LeBron. But LeBron James would have been just fine playing against the Pistons and Celtics. Ohio State recruited him for football. The dude is 6' 8", 250. He's about the same size as Mahorn. The little guys and skinny weak guys who expect a clear path to the rim (No touching!) are the ones who wouldn't stand a chance.

I hear you - but It's not a matter of being "just fine" back then - that's not the discussion point. He lives in fantasy-land about the brutality they allowed in the 80's vs the cupcake land they play in today - and claiming it's harder now. The guy is a narcissist will little grasp on reality in this area.

We could argue all day if his flops and whining would've worked back then - shrug - this point is about him being desperate about wanting to be considered better than MJ. He's reaching bad here

It would be interesting to get a reaction from the players from the 80s to his comments!

And when he gives it up some will probably say he was better than MJ and some won’t. In the end it’s just someone’s opinion in all these debates and is for good discussion on message boards like this.

I agree with all of that. I'm just saying that he would have been playing against the physical defenses of the past. An era that I loved by the way. LeBron could have been a a Magic Johnson type point forward or a larger Dr. J slashing to the basket. Those guys held up physically and LeBron's bigger than both of those guys.

Don't we want freedom of movement that they have now? If you want clotheslines and headlocks watch WWE. The talent today has never been better. Granted I still only watch about 3 weeks a year but these guys today are the best athletes in the world with off the chart skills

Easy to show off athleticism and skill when since they took any physical element out of the game. And oh yeah. The league doesn’t call traveling anymore. Soft league

I think you missed the point. No one said we should go back to clotheslines. I hated the Pistons and Bad Boys. Not defending that style of play at all (many did love it though). Personally, I loved "Showtime" back then. Talent, finesse, fast paced.

But that's not the point, which is simple: LeBron spouts off that it's tougher playing 82 games in a season than it was back then. He's full of crap and comes across as very insecure. I really don't see Brady begging others to consider him the GOAT or bash prior era's to make himself look good. True GOAT's let the fans and pundits go at it and let their career do the talking (for the most part.)

Simply calling his BS and insecurity out.

Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer would have made LeBron cry like a 3 year old girl.
