Yep, first limo stop. But I also think best opening week game, even if it does not turn out that way.

Bones let me know that the brook is ready to go all the way again so i'll be expecting great things.

In all honesty, we should have gotten LWW's schedule and they should have gotten ours.

Geez, Bones, The Brook catches both LWE and HF along with possible sleeper LWC, plus for good measure, the possibility of an ambush by Bradley-Bourbonnais down in Homer-town. Good luck with all that.
LWW on the other hand, misses you guys plus rivalry games with LWE and LWC. Sweet draw!

PJJP,

Word is coach Weiss carved up the starting JCA defense even with Da Brook 3rd string a few weeks ago at the 7v7...just sayin' looks pretty bad for your hilltoppers if he's as bad as you'd like to say he is!

Yeah...but that's before you brought Coach Weiss on board.

As for winning awards at 7v7...I could care less. You need to realize that while its fun and helps develop schemes, timing, and reads, it means little else to football ability with pads on or the college coaches.
You said the above in the "MC offensive change" thread, then follow up with the below in this thread?

PJJP,

They have nothing to do with each other. One was addressing the player and winning awards. The other was addressing coaching and specifically about developing schemes and timing with your own team. As usual you try to make your point and prove others to be correct! Have a great season.

Well...isn't that convenient? I guess that's one interpretation. Seems to me you dismiss the value of 7on7's in one thread, then a few minutes later exalt the value of an alleged 7on7 performance to praise a coach and denigrate a team / group of kids. In the future, try not to contradict yourself within minutes in two different threads.

PJJP,

Why so bitter? I wasn't denigrating the kid, he's a good player and QB but he is not currently the next Goff. Again what I said, since it seems you can't read and understand the content, is that All Star 7v7 can be a blast, and it can help players develop, if it's your HS team it can help the team with Schemes and Timing. The individual development is important all the time, however the scheme and timing really only helps for full teams that are participating in 7v7.

After this more lengthy explanation perhaps you can understand(doubtful you will admit it) that your bitterness towards a coach that you like to find every fault in, could be misplaced and perhaps he's pretty good at what he does.

Reading comprehension? Review my post again. I said "denigrating a team / group of kids". I was referring to the JCA defense that you unambiguously criticized in your first response. I was not referring to the QB in the MC thread. Got it?

Combined score against LWE & GBW last year was 56-7.

Bones:

I can imagine the despair you experienced watching your Raiders yield 56 points to LWE and GW, but if I may remind you of the fruit borne by Bolingbrook last year in week nine, perhaps I can be an agent of reconciliation for you as we enter the 2016 season.

While I rarely serve as a source of either inspiration or Greek wisdom, the 22 points Bolingbrook scored in week nine against Homewood-Flossmoor produced a playoff berth for Bolingbrook, knocked the Vikings from the ranks of the undefeated and contributed to an unparalleled moment of universal elation as members witnessed the self-serving and embarrassingly naïve IG88 driven from the board.

Only the extra-point kick striking IG88's temple and knocking the stupid out of him could have eclipsed the perfect joy of the Raider's win on this glorious October evening.

As for Bolingbrook's 2016 schedule, the best-charted course through hell is to keep going.

There are some bright spots, yes. The playoff streak intact and silencing IG88 were both of them. However, we need beat LWE at home and/or beat GBW to help restore the feeling.

Bones,

I believe you can win week 1 against GBW, keep the faith. Trying to get this thread back on topic that PJJP is trying to Derail.

PJJP,

If the talent isn't there at JCA just suck it up, if it's the antiquated coaching that caused the result then get it fixed. The fact is Da Brook shredded the JCA starters with their 3rd string. Whether that's the result of your favorite coach or the lack of talent you need to be able to accept that he's either good or your coaches need to adopt some changes to scheme, the coaches themselves or the coaches penchant for recruiting. The kids JCA needs simply won't show up on JCA's reputation any longer.

Derail eh? Who brought JCA into this thread? Coach Weiss is a relevant Brook topic, which I admittedly raised.

Expectations are not high in JCA country this year. However, I'm not sounding the alarm because of an alleged poor showing in a 7on7. The fact that you make the above sweeping comments after a supposed poor 7on7 performance is mind boggling to me.

I, for one, am done with Jwar and his mystifying points in this thread.

Please return to the regularly scheduled posting of GBW vs. the Brook.

GW fans should remember that, over the last 9 seasons, 1/2 of GW regular season losses have occurred in the first game of the season. ( The other half occurred in the last game of the regular season).

Interesting datapoint - why do you think that is?

Coincidence?

Or do you think GBW tends to be slow out of the gate - then gets on track and steamrolls and then at the end (last regular game) maybe rests players coming back from injury in the last game every once in a while?...depending on the season/year and player status?

I'm not being flippant - truly curious as GBW has not lost that many games in the last decade So it seems like it would be a tad more than coincidence?

Since 2008, GW has lost 2 regular season games. In 2010 they lost the last game of the season, apparently looking ahead to the playoffs. In 2013, they lost the first game of the season to WWS, in a game they lead in the 3rd quarter but couldn't hold off WWS's surge in the 4th quarter. As a fan since 2008, I'd have to say that GW tends to start off slow in game one, but then again, who doesn't.

Thanks Chuck! Yeah agree - early games are not the best indicator of how a team is going to end up at the end of the regular season. But if anyone wants a tough non conference game against GBW - sounds like first game of the season is the date to shoot for to get highest likelihood of a good outcome!!

All sandbagging aside, my guess is your best bet to get to 1-1 is by beating GW. LWE seems like the biggest bully on the public block this year and GW has some key holes to fill in the skills. Knowing what I see right now, an 8-1 regular season and playing 13 games total would be a successful season.

The last time we lost in regular season was the first game coming off an undefeated title season. So many similarities between 2012 and 2015 over here that it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see a similar eye opener at Da Brook like we got at WWS. My ONLY request is that Da Brook fans show more class than the WWS fans did. Creating a human tunnel and herding GW parents through and screaming directly into mother's faces was the lowest thing I have ever seen in my 45 years of sports. Let's keep it classy.

Really? That's awful. I'm surprised the HC and/or School Administration didn't step in or at the very least... offer a formal apology to the visiting team post event. I am even more surprised that a few fathers didn't "go off" while walking the funnel with the moms. I always say "Act like you've been there before" and WWS certainly has been there before (winning titles) in the distant past. Very unfortunate. Sorry Chuck!

Administrators and Police stood back over by the concession stand with big smiles. I was one of those dads that almost went off, but realized that it would have made GW look bad. Of course that story is for a different thread.

Bottom line is that this game will be a big game for Brook demonstrating they have turned the corner. GW has opened at home the last two years which allowed us to shake off the dust in the friendly confines. Again, last opener on the road was WWS in 2013 as mentioned.

Not a lot of positive omens for GW going into Brook. GW would be ecstatic to get out of there with a W. My guess is that Brook, if I read correctly, has a new OC that will be bringing his A game. Who knows, maybe he holds a few cards in his hand to spring on LWE, but we are planning for an absolute dog fight.

There was just a little bad blood b/w WWS and GW based on '09-'13 especially with GW finally getting a title in '12. I for one am glad that series is no longer.
Brook on a Friday night to open the season will be a new experience. Looking forward to a fun night for all as long as we can keep it close

That is the Game One of the week in my book! GBW at "Da Brook"

CN100 should carry this one on TV so I can watch one of the replays they do over the weekend. Comcast? you listening? I'm a Comcast triple play customer if that makes any difference!! :)

Why yes he was. Not sure if he was the admin we saw by the stand on the way out but we shared a few choice words with him about his lack of control. He expressed his amusement at our concern.

Needless to say we were just a little ready for the 2014 opener with them coming to Duchon, a 21-10 victory for a senior class that had gone 0-3 against WWS. After the game our students and parents made every effort to be good hosts and say "thanks for coming" or "great game" to the WWS fans on the way out. Zero gloating, zero hostility.

I heard the new OC has worked wonders with the Brook's 3rd string in 7on7 play. We shall see how he does right out of the gate in an actual game against a high caliber opponent like GW.

This is going to be a fun game to watch. If GW is going to stumble in 2016, this is the game. Bolingbrook will be a good test for a new O line and new QB.
