Yep, he fumbled about midway through the 2nd quarter and either got hurt after getting blocked trying to pursue the LA recovery (Beau Desherow's son Luke who I believe would've been a sophomore that year), or on the hit that lead to the fumble. They had zero points going into the half so it's hard to say they would've come back and won but we'll never know.

I mean no disrespect to Wheaton North but I always had trouble seeing them beat BR on that night with a healthy Lausch. He only left the pocket to avoid being sacked and on every read option, the read was always a give to Vaughn. I think if he's healthy and they were able to run their offense like they had all year, they would've been able to control the clock more and limit the Wheaton North possessions. Our defense certainly wasn't able to stop their offense in that game.

There was a BR poster on here who was insinuating in the week between the MC quarterfinal game and the semis vs. Wheaton North that Lausch was in bad shape and might not play and I remember being confused as to why. I saw Lausch after that MC game and he seemed fine. But then I remembered him getting smoked in his upper leg by an MC tackler's helmet. I guess the injury didn't set in until after the game. He was a golden ticket that year. Had to be the best QB in program history. Certainly in my lifetime.
I believe Bean got injured in the Marist semifinal game. Very similar to Lausch situation where he was able to play if he stood in the pocket but took away his running ability, which was what they relied on.

Respectfully, we all know that he didn’t believe that. The X factor for a great HS Qb is their running ability. There is no chance Lynch would rather play Lausch than the WN QB. He put up 84 points on him in two games. WN QB was good, though.
Well that's what he said and I trust his assessment when looking at QB's with his playing resume. He said he was the better QB not the one he would rather face. Maybe the WN QB would have put 90 on MC 😀

😆 Dude it’s no lie you have maybe 3 kids from the south side playing. You’re admitting the shadiness by denying it. Cheater
Over half of our starters are south side kids. Are you ever going to name all of the senior starter transfers you claimed? You’re literally just making things up.

Who is your almighty school with 100% “south side” starters?

I would agree that Forcucci was a better thrower of the football in the pocket than Lausch. Lausch could hit some deep balls and just generally sling it but when in the pocket/dropping back, he would make some bad throws (and honestly even when he was rolling left or right). But he was just the best athlete on the field 90+% of the time his senior year and the BR offense was tough to stop with him healthy and when the running game was humming.

Not saying I don't believe you spoke to Jordan or that he said that about Lausch but I'm surprised he would given what Lausch did against MC in the regular season. I personally have a phobia of opponent quarterbacks who can run and throw like him. I certainly trust a Heisman finalist's opinion on QB play more than my own. Probably the best player in BR history (certainly the best I ever watched) and weren't able to convert it into a title.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got hurt in the Marist semifinal game. It was cold and raining and those teams were putting some absolute licks on each other in that game. Very physical game. But he seemed fine up until the fumble in the 1st half of the championship game. Certainly possible that he was hurt before the fumble play and it exacerbated it. I'm hoping CJ Gray doesn't have a hidden injury this week given their QB history in the playoffs.
