Just bought a new Dell laptop, and of course it came with IE as the default browser. I added Chrome, since my old laptop, and my work desktop and laptop both use it and I'm used to it. It is just faster than IE, but my question is this: should I remove IE from my laptop? Does is slow down my computer?

Thanks in advance for all advise......and all the expected smart *** comments I've grown to laugh at on here. :)

No just leave it. Amazingly there are still some things that only work with explorer.

If you're using windows 10, it is not IE, it's Edge.

No need to remove it. Just don't use it if you don't like it.

MD, you are correct sir, it is indeed Edge. No, I don't like it, Chrome is 5 times faster, at least on my device it is anyway.

Thanks guys, if it doesn't hinder my laptop I'll just leave it alone.

I like both and switch back and forth. Some things work better on one or the other.

AND, Edge gives you the option to use IE. Some Norton Antivirus functions won't work on Edge.
