The funny thing about this is now the Auburn fans are complaining that they are paying the basketball coach more than the football coach. They want a correction made to remedy that.

OMG, Auburn fans do not have a clue. Bruce Pearl just screwed your War Eagle fund out of millions. Billy Gillespie had a better chance of getting the UL job than Bruce Pearl did. He played you guys and your AD like a pimp in the French Quarter of New Orleans doting the Marci Gras. Don’t get me wrong, I love Bruce, think he is a great coach and love that he is kicking Calapari’s ***. He was never, ever going to be offered the UL job.

Win-Win for both Louisville and Auburn. This drags out it doesn’t help either party. Louisville wasn’t going down this path but the fans were. Nature of the beast have to lock down coaches but man things can change overnight.

I saw it on the rivals main board where a couple of the fans say paying Bruce that much better push Harsin ( whoever that is) to push for more football money. Pearl will be making 50 million the next 7 years.

Harsin might want to have a winning record 1st. I like the guy, and he inherited a **** show, but you gotta do better than he’s doing now. Bruce is worth every Penny, IMO. He could have squeezed more…. $5.4 over 8 years, with a $250K yearly escalator. Got the assistants paid, and a BOF, which is what he wanted.
He’s 55 and prior to Covid there was no reason to think Mack was going anywhere. If that was his strategy - it was a poor one. Might work out for him anyway.
i would go with Pegues for a few years until we are done with the NCAA business and have a President. he's coached well given the circumstances. the players like him. give him a chance to recruit and get his own staff.
