6-6 and 3-5 in the SEC should be the BARE MINIMUM for Coach Stoops in year 4!!!

By saying we "surprise a few folks" and just go 6-6 should NEVER be considered a compliment. I say that realizing how low UK Football has been for the last 35 years. Heck, I've struggled through EVERY heartache!!

This season Coach Stoops has to win some games that we aren't supposed to win if he ever wants to make UK Football an actual contender.

I am pulling hard for Coach Stoops to turn UK Football around, I actually believe we can win 7-8 games if we catch a few breaks(Lord knows we are WAAAY overdue for some).

I want to see UK play in a SEC Championship before I die. I strongly believe Coach Stoops, with a few breaks, can get us there. But it has to start RIGHT NOW!!!

our defense is questionable, but expand your horizon beyond moaning & groaning about UK and realize other programs are having struggles identifying starting units & effective schemes as well.

Our DLine was bad last yr, no denying that. I don't know how much losing Meant will hurt this yr. Stoops sounded like it was a HUGE loss, I dunno. We'll definitely know more after Sep. 3rd. I expect we'll be better. Elam is in better shape with improved skill and the LBers will also be an improvement with some additions. I hope they are better ray:

This is going to be an interesting season. We're starting to see the talent change but we are still thin in the front on D. There are 3 games we have no business losing, but we could. Then there are 4 games we likely won't win UF, UT, UGA and Bama. If we pull off one of those it would be UF. We get them early and their QB situation isn't great. That leaves the 5 we can certainly win but we'll have to earn them, Vandy, USC, Missouri, UL and Miss. St. If everything goes right, we could reach 8-4, but nothing ever goes right all the time. We get 3 of the winnable games at home which is a good thing. I'll be happy at 6-6, which means we won 3 of the 5. As others have stated, the range is probably 5-7 to 7-5 with 6-6 being the most likely outcome. At least the bowl monkey would be off our back.

That's why when I played football in high school. They had to get pads and a helmet from Cumberland College aka University of the Cumberlands.

I had an offer from them too. Walk-on offer for WKU, EKU but couldn't play anymore because of a knee injury.

4-8 is the benchmark for this team with a weak front 7, and a tough SEC slate. Anything over that, and Stoops coached his *** off.

That said, this is Kentucky football, and I go in expecting 2-10 so I am not let down.

I've been connected to UK Football since I was a child. My grandfather was on the 1950 championship team. I'll be a goddamn sunshine pumper for the rest of my life. I don't care if they go 0-12. To the people who are so "frustrated" with UK Football. Go **** yourselves. How do you think the players/coaches over the years feel? That's why I carpet bomb them. Well, I wouldn't call them "elite" by any means…but we play against a very formidable offensive opponent with a successful veteran QB before we even get to the SEC schedule. Southern Miss's QB threw for 300+ yards and a TD vs Miss. St. in their opener last year and threw for 350+ yards and 2 TD's vs Washington Huskies in the Whatever Bowl at the end of the season. And they return their best RB from last year as well.

Forget about the SEC…we better be focused on Southern Miss…as they will give us all we want in Week 1. Their pre-season RPI ranking is higher than UK's right now…for whatever that's worth. Pre-season rankings aren't worth jack really. But I still give Southern Miss a 50/50 shot at winning that 1st game vs UK and that's only because its at CWS.

However…they do have a new coach, their OL is questionable (which bodes well for our week front 7 hopefully) and they lost their best two WR's. And the game is at CWS. Cats may win…but we will have to put some major points on the board to keep up with them. I'm guessing they put up at least 35 points against UK's defense. Is our offense capable of topping that in Week 1? We best be firing on all cylinders from the get go.

Hope UK wins but it wouldn't surprise me if we lost that first game. If that happens then this season may go into a tail spin. And the Lair will implode before we even get to the SEC schedule.

Then think about that game being a virtual toss-up. And then…and ONLY then…go back and re-examine your evaluations and predictions about UK's SEC schedule.
