I want Pearl so, so badly at UK. And I love Pope.
Hard pass on anything Pearl. Let him go run for Congress or be a Zionist mouthpiece somewhere else.
Soon as cal left I told my son we need to go after Pearl, idc what he did in the past and everyone can change and deserves a 2nd chance. He’s passionate & doesn’t care to get after kids, he reminds me so much of Pitino and maybe Mitch leaving may open that door up.

I literally called this earlier. We can’t hire anybody in this fanbase. You’re either too Christian, or too pro-Judaism, too Mormon, too Catholic, too nice, yells too much, too much coach speak, doesn’t show enough passion, looks unhinged, recruits too many OAD, playing for the name on the back of the jersey, didn’t play enough Kentucky boys, too involved with some personal matter that has nothing to do with us etc. etc. If Pearl came here and lost a few, you’d have a whole bunch of anti-Semitism and people complaining at how he distorts the gospel and he only got hired because his religious or political views align with someone in the administration, as though it makes any sense. We are easy to please lol.
I for one, don’t care if Pearl was a 5 star general of Antifa and was Kamala Harris’s appointed vice president if the man can coach us to victory. Y’all care way too much about crap that ain’t got nothing to do with ball.
Maybe Rick will come back home to retire, I would take him for 5 years and then I would think we could win #9 and not the 9 wins we might win this year.
I would take him in a second. His passion and determination along with Kentucky’s brand and resources would be a killer match if utilized properly. Imagine giving him one of if not the biggest NIL funds to work with in the country.

I thought they’d struggle more with the players they lost and losing Bruce. I think he’s doing pretty good so far. Better than Pope this season:
1 point loss to Houston.
30 point loss to Michigan.
Win against Oregon.
Win against St. John’s.
Win against NC State
29 point loss to Arizona.

I effing hate Pearl. He’s a slime and a scuzz. Honestly, I thought the same about Cal. The only thing Cal ever did, pre UK, that I liked was piss off Cheney.
All that said, I’d take him tomorrow if I could. Dude can coach and we wouldn’t be looking at this mess we are in if he were the coach.
If Bruce takes his shirt off and comes to the football games painted blue I’ll get some football tickets while I’m at it.
Pearl is super ambitious, high energy, and has proven results in the tournament. After the last decade of what we've been through those traits are exactly what we need. Get rid of Mitch first -- and he absolutely should be fired, not allowed to coast into an 800K a yr "job" -- and bring Pearl in.
Well... what I wrote actually has to do with the position, not some off the wall hypothetical.
First of all, we didn’t “run him off.” Cal was the one flirting around with Ohio State while he was still coaching here! Ohio State got their man. Cal tried to stay here after it was found out & they basically told him it was time to go. Go rewatch him arriving at Arkansas, he looks so miserable!
He’s got this year and next to get it right. Otherwise see ya.
