I’m guessing you’d see far less offers if they were all committable and binding. Would be a good thing in my opinion.

Well, regular students can "opt out" right up to the day classes start... they just have to pay a deposit or two to secure a spot.

I understand that scholarship athletes are getting a free ride, but they can also transfer out very easily, so how penal can you really be when guys de-commit?
