He will DEMOLISH Augusta this year playing/hitting it like this.
Sure, he might. But he’s taking an entirely different approach to his swing and his clubs. I’m just wondering if he’s onto something that will change golf.

Power has always been an advantage. Koepka won 2 years in a row and then Woodland last year. All big bombers. Wolff was in second place and he plays similar. What Dechambeau has done different is totally change his body and swing to become such a powerful player. It is real but one also knows how to play out of bad spots as that will happen.

His irons are all same length and his swing is bizarre....completely reinvented his golf swing.

Not for the average golfer. He was an NCAA, US Am, PGA tour winner and now an US Open champion. He wasn't chopped liver. Now he's going to try an even longer length driver for more distance

I would be shocked if he is juicing.
It's out there among the players. He pretty much changed his body overnight. Your body will break down from long term sustained use. Your body thinks you're 18 again. Bryson is only 27.

His swing style has been around for a long, LONG time. People haven't used it because "it doesn't look pretty". Moe Norman popularized it, well not really since nobody wants to use it. Watch some videos on it. It's pretty interesting. I'm considering it IF I get in to a slump with my current swing. Took me over a year to get back to my fade from trying over a year to go with a power draw. My scores with the fade are about 6 strokes lower now that I have my old swing path back. I lost about 10 yards (280 to 270), but got my accuracy back.

If I go screwy again, I'll give this a shot. See what happens.

HGH is one that is hard to detect. That's what I've heard tiger was on

I've always believed Tiger was on something. I think Bryson is smart enough to not get caught, and has probably found something that will be considered "illegal" in the future. But they went through his high protein daily diet.........AMAZING calorie intake. About like an Olympic swimmer.

Moe Norman was a driving range only hitter and yes his setup held the triangle long like Bryson. Moe did it for accuracy but being accurate on a range is a lot different than what Bryson is doing with a 5.5 degree driver and the ball speed coming off the club. In addition, Moe would set the driver 8 inches behind the ball at address versus Bryson hovering the club freely on a 4 inch tee like a long drive champion athlete. Very different and only thing similar is the setting of the arms with the rigid triangle.

You carry the ball 270 in the air? That's a long way. What is your carry with an 8 iron?

Bryson is the first person that we know of who has more loft on his putter than his driver

At 27 he could possibly work off all those calories. however, unless on something, he will get fat and his body will breakdown from having to expend all that energy. Sound familiar? Torn ACL. fractured tibia, back issues? Tiger suffered from that. My source thinks that Bryson is on something.

Do you realize that Rory actually averaged more off the tee than Bryson this past week?

No clue what Rory's distance has compared to Bryson. My comments are discussing the fact power is not new to great championship golf and Rory has been one of the leaders along those lines for many years. This thread was about Bryson and the changes he made to become more of a power golfer and then a discussion on how he has done it and then there was a false comparison to Moe Norman which I commented on.

Did not know that.

Just checked the stats.......for the record, BD finished 7th at a 325.6 average for all 4 rounds, while McElroy finished 6th with a 328.1 average. By way of comparison, Dustin Johnson finished 1st at 333.6 (and Matthew Wolfe finished 2nd at 333.5)

One more interesting stat; of all players placing in the Top 10 for fairways hit......which I myself would typically expect to be fairly important on a US Open track.....only two players (McElroy at T8 and Harris English at 4th) finshed in the Top 10.

Are you always this big of an a$$hole? Do your research on the swing. 100% influenced from Moe Norman's teachings.

Answer is I don't give a **** what anyone thinks of me on here. Second, you are all over the place with comments. I know this subject way better than you and it is obvious. Topic is power and not whether or not Bryson has been influenced by Mow Norman. I didn't say he wasn't. But comparing the two, I plainly stated the only thing that is comparable and you are whining as usual.

Go cry somewhere else, loser

Yeah...his putting style is just as different as his regular swing. Uses a different putter and locks himself in w/ the putter flush against his forearm until just below his elbow. Removes a lot of the room for error.

And my reply was that he wasn't even in the top 5 in distance this past week. So, go cry somewhere else about how he is cheating.

********, I'm not accusing him of cheating.

You never get anything right

You mean I have something in common with Dr. Fauci? What were you talking about then? What "new idea" or "new way" of playing the US Open did Bryson come up with? Hit it long, don't care about fairways? Buddy, that's been happening for a while now.
