Overall, overwhelmingly positive from the crew-not necessarily surprised, but didn't note anything really negative. Three interesting things i took away:

  • Looks like Clayton's a go for a week from tonight
  • Howard said Larkin may be an upgrade over JJTBC. Yes, he said that.
  • Great point was brought up on the Brohm trick plays-the defense has had more than the usual amount of time to prep for trick plays.
On the Purdue side-not sure if anyone saw the comments from the crew, but boy, not nearly as positive about that team and that talent as I expected.

I thought they pushed the start time? When is it airing next?

Spot on on the Purdue assessment. Was actually on a par with lolIllinois if you can believe that...

I was honestly how hard they were on the oline for purdue. I think it could be a bright spot. Defense is young. Talented, but young. Dline is the weakest position on the team probably.

Trick plays to me are usually an act of desperation. Solid defensive play commonly thwart trick plays.

Yes, I was surprised as well. Maybe they caught Purdue on a bad day...

Shout out to Turk, Phillips referenced "Fake by the Lake" today, said teams were using that quote in negative recruiting against NU, saying it would never happen....

I think it was DiNardo who said you wouldn’t even know CT was coming off an injury based on how he looked today.

Yes.

And Clayton has obviously spent time in the weight room, his is huge in the upper body region.

Purdue has to play Missouri,Boston College,MSU,Wisconsin ,Ohio State , Iowa,At Nebraska, and Wisconsin! Very tough schedule. BC is solid. But I see four losses at least. They won’t be too tough on defense. Likely giving up 25 -30 points game at least

J Leman was over the top optimistic on NU, IMO. He gave very high praise to our front 7 and sounded like he expects us to beat Wisconsin.

He talks out of every possible side of his mouth. Later on he said he’d be shocked if Wisconsin didn’t win the West; but stranger things have happened. He has the West as UW, NU, Iowa, Nebraska

DiNardi was high on the Supebacks too, Thorson mentioned Cam Green specifically as well. Consensus seems to be the weakest spots are the secondary and lack of play makers at WR. No mention of Jalen Brown at all, not sure if that means he’s still getting back from injury.

I turned in in a later edition and saw....Purdue. Then in the second hour it went to NU. Likely because of the OSU BS. Interesting that they indicated Urban Meyer had some memory problems. (no not related to the incident)

In fairness to him, I think he was high on the NU front seven as one of the few in the West with a chance to slow down Wisconsin. He definitely has Wisconsin as the winner in the West. I will be interested in the Wisky "D" this year. They have excellent coaching, but they have a lot to replace on that side of the ball. And due to suspensions they'll be without two of their top receivers for at least a couple of games. Could be longer than that with Cephas depending upon how that is resolved.

It's amazing how forgetful people can get when things aren't working out for them.

Not defending Meyer by any stretch but I am always amazed how typically expectations are that someone will remember details from events years prior. Speaking as someone who frequently forgets his wife's birthday, I have had dispositions where I could not remember anything until prodded by written documentation or further conversation. The attorneys get a little tired of "I do not recall" and remind you later in court if after review of the documentation your memory freshens.
