I keep thinking if we win this Bucknell, game that puts us first to win #2,400 official wins since the 1902-03 season started?

But then again, I see another site saying the Bucknell game would be for win 2,402 ( against 759-1 .760 W-L%) ?? (https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/kentucky/men/) ??

so I'm not sure ? But I like the idea I got that if we win this one, Coach Pope gets his second win and we get our 2400th !

Sweet!

FWIW, the place I keep UK's all-time record is on the following page:

UK-Schedule Hyperlinked

I have them as having a record of 2399-758-1. So the next win will be number 2400 (at least using current official records).

From what I can see that's consistent with the NCAA's All-Time listing of 2398-758-1 at the start of this season.

NCAA Offiical Record Book 2023-24 (Page 73)

I don't know where Sports Reference is getting their numbers. It appears they have UK with 2 additional victories and 1 additional loss. I did a scan of their season-by-season record for UK and didn't see any discrepancies so it's kind of a mystery.

I've had your site bookmarked for forever it seems. Let me say sir that that has got to be the most comprehensive stat page of any team in any sport. It's a wealth of info that fans can read for days on end and I just want to thank you for that.

Many thanks for the clarification, and hyperlink !

Yeah, I 'dunno where they got the extra victories, but I look to your site as the quintessential stat site for the Cats. And it's just rich in every detail. I couldn't find that on there ! Thanks for maintaining !

I went ahead and added the all-time running list at the bottom of the following page:

Kentucy Teams of the Past

FWIW, I'm wondering if the issue with SportsReference is they might have been including two wins and one loss that UK had in the NCAA tournament in 1988, which were later voided by the NCAA? Those kinds of things make things messy when you're dealing with all-time records.
