I absolutely despise OU as a institution. The handling of Mixon along with so many others over the years is beyond despicable. However, my hate for such a place can not get in the way of being such a HUGE fan of Buddy Hield. He may be the most likable kid in the history of college sports. He is so damn polite and just a cute kid. That interview with Holly Rowe after the LSU game was something else.

Already a big Thunder fan and I hope like hell one day he could join Durant. Buddy has got to be #1 in the draft.

I have always liked Derrick Johnson. He was/is a gifted player and spoke like a good guy. I do not know that I have to go off on a rant about how sorry Texas is for me to say I like him though.

Well I imagine the OP writer has to prove his cred. Otherwise he might not be able to go crawl back to a Longhorn board and live.

Yep. DJ was a beast and a quality guy to boot.

I don't need to piss on another young man to prop up DJ.

Should not have ranted but just truly how I feel about OU as a program and not just because it's OU. Hell, we can't beat K-State but I love everything about that place, total class from top to bottom. IMO Pedd St. and OU are easily 2 of the worst institutions in the country. The real kicker is that JoPiss called out Switzer back in the day when the m'fer enabled children to be raped. Sickening.

You think Durant will be in OKC long enough to play with Buddy there?

I really can't blame you for hating OU since they own Texas in football and basketball including kicking the Horns butt over the last 15 years in recruiting great talent.

Hield will go in first round, but nowhere near #1. I will say this, I don't see Simmons being anything more than a pretty good player at best.

Don't ever compare ou to penn state. Ou used to pay for elite talent like everyone else did, including texass. Ou has never been linked to any type of cover up like what went on at psu and what is going on at Baylor now.

OU and Ped State are comparable, eh? One institution allows a coach to screw children in the jock showers--and covers for him--while the other gives a second chance to a guy who slugged a drunken chick who called him a n****r and slapped him. That comparison makes a lot of sense. Call it Bongwhorn logic.

You need to change your name, pal. How about ""LonghornStupid? Sounds apropos, accurate, descriptive, and catchy.

"Dipshit" will do, also.

Nowhere near might be a stretch. He won't be #1. Seniors aren't often picked too high, since raw basketball talent is favored. However despite his age, Buddy will probably be the best shooting guard in the draft - at this time. He could probably contribute to an NBA team quicker than some of those younger guards that will be more coveted due to raw talent.

And, draft position is going to depend on the lottery selections and which teams are up first. Will they need shooting guards? The NBA has become more of a small-ball, shooting guard type of league. It's not center dominated or point guard dominated like it was 10-20 years ago. Almost every team has an elite level point guard these days. It's a matter of finding a shooting guard with ice in his veins that can deliver night in and night out. Buddy is starting to fill that role now that he's adding a pretty dangerous inside game to his already phenomenal outside shooting. I would venture to guess that he'll be among the top 5 shooting guards picked, and I would also venture to guess that shooting guards will weight heavily at the beginning of the draft, so that bodes well for him.

longhornhomosays 'what'?

Thanks for being so selfless to complement Buddy Hield despite your elevated fandom status. Tea sipping prick.

That comment threw me off for a second. I had to read your comment and your username a few times to realize you weren't being self-deprecating.

I concur. Teams are now playing catchup with the Warriors and Hield's stock is rising every time he gets on the floor. He can contribute immediately in an offensively orientated NBA.

The "potential" perception will likely keep Buddy out of the top 5 but not much lower.

Someone ask the OP if he remembers a tight end name Brock Edwards who intentionally beat up a guy so badly that he almost killed him. did Brock miss a game for any reason other than jis own injuries?

We can throw accusations back and forth, but I would think that the liberals at UT would talk about a black male being justified at retaliating when he is bombarded with the Nword and hit in the back twice.

OU did not justify Joe hitting a girl. But it was a one shot reaction to a drunk lady being out of line. He missed a whole year. Do you think that should eliminate him from ever again participating? Maybe if he had been in a burnt orange hoodie.

3 years ago we kicked a 5* receiver out of town for decking a guy OVER a girl. We recently sent
sent 2 stud receivers packing for being charged with sexual assault only later to be found not guilty.

Promise one damn thing, at Texas we will never welcome any loser that punches a girl in the face, holds a screw driver to a girls neck in the middle of the desert threatening to kill her or take on a major drug dealer transferring from another school. Ever.

This "promise" actually made me laugh out loud. You may want to stand on your ivory pedestal and preach it. But you have zero say in what the coaches at UT will and won't do.
What happens when the next Texas reprobate makes headlines and your "promise" goes swirling down the drain?
Just like your calling out Mixon and we call out any number of bad eggs in Austin that never missed a down (How many downs did Mixon miss?), we can post a list right alongside yours of trouble makers who were dealt with swiftly. We had one WR who was the best in the country who was dismissed before his first class for a rap song he posted on the internet.
Why would you dismiss the best WR in the country over a Rap song and "only" suspend a RB who punched someone?
Paul Harvey might tell you, there is more to the story than a Rap song and a punch.

PS = That kid with the screwdriver to the girl's neck? He never made his first class, either.

You are the epitome of an arrogant, hypocritical Longhorn fan.

Good one, the screw driver assailant left the program on his own. Of course he was welcomed back with open arms but felt more comfortable continuing his rampage back home.

What about a sexual assault on a women by one player while the other watches? Ring a bell? No matter if it was assault or not McCoy is still a little perv.

Fair enough. But I can comfortably say I don't hate UT and the state of Texas just because the Governer was directly implicated at paying college football players and cheating for years. I also don't think Augie is a bastard because he helped a part-time coach get a $40K per year no-show job to help him with baseball recruiting.

I can go on...but it's really pointless. Hypocrisy is a Longhorn tradition.

I think mid 1st round is about right, but there's a lot more season left. A superstar run through the dance could yield him a few spots north.

Dear Longhorn: We all remember when Cedric Benson stole a bunch of stuff, and never missed a game.

Don't forget a certain player that was driving drunk, ran through a building and disappeared. This was after calling friends to come help him get the car out of the apartment and push it down the road to hide it. THEN he contacted the cops through an attorney the next day. What happened to him? He was made a team captain lol.

Come on Jobea.

That building jumped off the corner in front of his car and then jumped back too quick for anyone else to notice. Those buildings in Austin are just out to get Longhorn athletes.
