Nance really came to play though
So? They’re both freshmen. We should expect ebbs and flows with their performances as they get used to the B1G grind.Kopp was awful tonight so between him and Buie playing so poorly it is remarkable we lost by only 15. Hopefully those two play lights out on Saturday and make up for it.
Unless you can pound the ball inside, you got no chance against a solid bigvten hoops team .We are too young this year. Wait till next year boysNance’s length and agility can be fun to watch. He is such a mismatch nightmare if he figures it out

The lineup of Spencer-Turner-Kopp-Beran-Nance was +16 last night in a game we lost by 15 points. They played for just under 10 minutes, and probably would've played more if not for Spencer and Beran's foul trouble (1st and 2nd half respectively). There were times when the length of Nance and Beran were really giving Wisconsin trouble. Hopefully we'll see more of that in the coming years.

Beran and Nance played together in two other lineups last night, where they were outscored 9-0. Spencer-Buie-Kopp-Beran-Nance was 0-6 in 2 minutes while Spencer-Buie-Turner-Beran-Nance was 0-3 in 1 minute.
Buie was a staggering -27 last night in 23 minutes.
For some reason a few seasons back I decided I wanted to see how we looked at a lineup level so I started keeping track on a spreadsheet using the PBP data after games. It's a way to kill some time at work, I guess. Thanks for the stats. Where are you getting them, by the way?

Beran and Nance would make a really nice combo if 1) they get much stronger at the rim and 2) they can both shoot 35%-40% from 3 at a moderate to high volume. Beran is actually shooting 40% this year but with just 45 attempts. We get those guys going against bigger, slower players and/or smaller guys in the post, and we may really have something next year. Plus teams wouldn't be able to key in on Kopp the same way.
It's hard to suss out an ideal lineup since Collins plays a lot of combinations (72 lineups in 19 games), with an average of 14 different lineups per game and only 7 lineups have even played 5% or more of available minutes with the max being 11.3%.That's really cool! I'm curious, from your observations what's our ideal lineup from a plus/minus perspective? Any players have surprising numbers?
For the conference season, -16 in 56 minutes. There was really only one game where that lineup dominated, and it was the home game against MD where it was +11 in only 5 minutes. Then Beran got hurt before the next game against OSU and wasn't in the starting lineup, but Collins went back to it again against MSU who eviscerated it 16-2 in 6:32. It lasted one more game before the switch to the current starting lineup.Awesome info!
What about the Spencer/Kopp/Beran/Nance/Young lineup? It seems we had a string of good games with that lineup (forced by Buie's injury).
ESPN misled me following my late night Google search. How do I sue them, judge?Kopp is a Sophomore

You mean the lineup that now has close to an average of 1.4 years of B1G play amongst them? For the conference season, -16 in 56 minutes. Purplejustice Is a big-time judge and swings a mighty gavelI wish, but I'm just a regular lawyer. Someone on this board is a federal judge though! I figured it out after going to their chambers for a warrant and seeing a ton of NU gear (which you never see at Dirksen) and I straight up asked his screen name, which he obliged. We are a small but mighty fan base.

PS there is another poster on the board whose name is not quite as familiar to folks because he does not post terribly often, But I am fairly sure that his wife is a judge. Because I am not absolutely positive, I will not mention his name. willycat and ubercat would know for sure. Both of them have been to several Purple Parties And met a whole bunch of folks from the board.
There is, in fact, another poster friend of mine who I think you're referring to. His wife is not a judge, though. He IS (was) a federal judge. Currently retired from the bench. Not sure of his screen name. Hope that clears up everything.
Yep and Uber has the right guy.Cleared up? Nope, more confused. Don’t know if you’re talking about the same guy because I thought his wife was a judge. Next time I see you you can straighten me out
PS I gave you a hint, the dude to whom I referred is an old and good friend of willycat.
PPS Easier hint, A whole bunch of us had dinner together in Nashville the night before the bowl game, including you I thinkCleared up? Nope, more confused. Don’t know if you’re talking about the same guy because I thought his wife was a judge. Next time I see you you can straighten me out
