OMG. IU is hellbent on being mediocre forever! I thought for sure they'd break out serious money and swing away. FFS, they just simply don't want to be a standout basketball program ever again.

I step away for a couple of days, and what do the Hoosiers do ? Go hire a new head coach ? Of course they do!
Darian Devries was a safe, good choice for the Hoosiers. Maybe there can exist peace and harmony between our two fan bases? There's hope, seeing a hire like this. I'm not surprised they made this move, but I am surprised they didn't hold off pulling the trigger for another couple weeks to see the entire picture. They had a good of a look out there as anyone could have to pick from, though, I'd say.
Surprisingly optimistic here that Indiana might not be too bad with him as coach, only time will tell, though. Surely better than what they've been for well over 10, 20 years, now. I'm not sure if he can bring Indiana to the level of excellence they want or not, but if he can do it there, Coach Pope will kill it here.
I don't see his style as anything flashy or any kind of really interesting angle as to how the game is played nowadays. He'll be on top of getting his son that extra year so he can play for IU next year. Smart move, he will be alright there. we will need to find a good portal guard(s) ourselves next year.
I'll look forward to putting Indiana back on the yearly schedule and want us to win that game above all others in the regular season, once again. Just like I've always wanted for a regular season game. Indiana ever was the one team we played every year in the regular season, at least, that I wanted to beat more than anyone else. Not an SEC school, not dUKe, UNC***, Kansas , but Indiana. So it shall be once again, since they are putting IU back on the schedule.
I'll say this with a very hesitant but respectful demeanor ....
