Because no one who ever worked for or with the FBI has turned out to be a spy. This would be a first ever in history.

People are innocent until proven guilty. I'm not saying that he's a spy. I'm saying that his involvement with the FBI prior to the current charges doesn't mean that he wasn't doing something illegal.
