Anybody wonder what's really going on with Butler? Might just be PTSD from years past but how bad is he?
It's a hurt ankle. But if he doesn't go tomorrow, I'm going to wonder if it's worse than originally thought.

Ankles are weird things. You can twist one and never feel it. Or you can barely roll one and have it swell up like a freaking grapefruit (and hurt like hell).

Sadly we may need to sacrifice this game for the bigger picture. If this was on the road I’d say rest him as a road loss is not bad for seeding. We don’t want to lose a home game to unranked team.

I’m not sure we will beat them without Butler. Unless we show more toughness than we have recently. No careless passes. No bad shots. And moving on offense. Also throw in some zone to stop penetration

Why? Its been like 10 days since the Clemson game, when he hurt it.
Ankle sprains can take a few weeks to heal, esp for a basketball player.

Louisville is down 3 guys and the game is in Rupp, there shouldn't be any sacrificing of games.

I don't think he has to play, but being available would feel a lot better. Not for the W or L, but as a reassuring status update.

Human ancestors evolved bipedalism, but unfortunately, ankle and knee durability hasn't quite kept up with that particular revelation.

He’s 100% playing 😂 He’s been out to get fully ready for this game, and besides, UK took care of a Top 10 Gonzaga team on the road, down 18 in the 2nd half without him! And some are worried about U6 beating #5 UK in Rupp with Pope as the HC?

Damn, Cal sent some of you over the edge before he left, didn’t he?

For your second paragraph you mean they need to play like they did in the game less than a week ago against Gonzaga?

Down 3 players is kind of deceiving. One was sitting out before the season started. One barely even saw the floor. Pryor is the only loss from the team that’s been playing.
They were boat racing Duke early. Then ran out of gas. I would not underestimate them with how we played Wednesday.

Might have to. That PG for Louisville is pretty damn tough. Gets anywhere he wants on the court. Really need Butler IMO. That or change up defenses, like you said.

Ankles especially. And some of us have stronger ankles than others.
I've partially torn ligament(s) in my knee and walked fine. I twisted my ankle in the woods a few years back and thought I was going to die.

I hope Lamont is on the former trajectory.

I think if he doesn't go tomorrow it's more about getting him a another full week of healing.

I'm just glad we no longer have a coach who was constantly letting guys sacrifice games for THEIR bigger picture.

Ankles can be really worrisome. You think you’re healed up an bam, out again.
Pope mentioned using Oweh…which could hurt by taking him out of position. I suppose the staff feels the same as the most of us on Perry….a good game could do wonders but a bad game at home against Louisville could be a big setback.

Ah well….lace ‘‘em up and we see.

I hope he’s a go by tomorrow evening or this could be extremely close for comfort. We couldn’t sustain a 17-0 lead against REALLY bad team. If we had one of Kriisa or Butler, I’d feel better but there’s not a lot of stability with both out. Without Butler, this one could go either way imo

We can win without him.
Let him heal up.
That was a pretty nasty turn.
Nah, you don’t risk losing this game in Popes first season. Although one doesn’t have much to do with the other, we just got embarrassed on our own football field by U6. No need in letting them build any type of momentum on the basketball side of things! Lamont needs to play if at all possible!

We gotta know UL will be bombing away from 3 and make a bunch of them. Never seems to fail.
I do think we will win but it won't be easy.
