As this list narrows, the remaining candidates will be pushed further Left to claim the nomination. Democrats will nominate a full throat-ed Radical Left wing Socialist, who will then be buried in a George McGovern, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis style landslide.

There is an ongoing effort to both reduce the Federal workforce as well as eliminate duplicate Federal programs and/or agencies. It's not easy as one of the articles I linked to quoted one Trump admin official and a good deal of the resistance is coming from the very people who's jobs would be eliminated without their ongoing obstruction.

However the point of my linking those articles was simply to show where Trump's philosophy rests in relation to growing Government...whether it be through reduced regulations, reduced taxes, reduced programs, reduced funding, or reduced workforce, the emphasis is to shrink Government and it's not arguable. Coop is arguing Trump is embarking on a Socialist agenda of expanding Government and that is a congenital lie.

Why do you think he (Trump) is so universally hated among swamp dwellers?
We've traveled this path on different issues in the past. What specifically has this administration done, other than speak about it, to move in that direction?

Currently the Left is in a tizzy over his defunding of Title X funds to Planned Parenthood, as well as rewriting the arcane rules of the endangered species act, along with de-funding of the NIH, and rolling back EPA rules restricting natural gas, oil, and coal production. I linked to a long list of other de-regulatory actions he is either pursuing, has signed into action, or proposed and re-linking here.

https://www.brookings.edu/interactives/tracking-deregulation-in-the-trump-era/

also linking to list of Trump's proposed budget cuts for 2020

I know you and disagree over the amount and perhaps even the pace of shrinking Government, and I can respect that. However please explain to me what part of my answer in post 43 either to you or @WVUCOOPER represents Trump "expanding" the size of Government? Why for instance in that WaPo article I linked to on his proposed cuts to the 2020 budget, are Democrats almost unanimously opposed to it?

What cuts are they offering?

Nice try Mule with your usual FAKE calm seductiveness. Let's just put this out front to qualify your "Goodie two shoes" narrative.

What about the fake collusion exercise? You wanted it to true. You were cheering with all the other liberal clowns on this forum daily while most of you knew it was a fake conspiracy for Trump to not be POTUS.

Your MO is the worst of worst. While buried deeply in all that BS you write is a guy who would cut Trump's heart out in a minute. Quit playing Gentle Ben with every post. You hate Trump and his policies, but like all liberals you cannot stand the other side's argument.

More damn lies and trash has been disseminated by the democrats and their embedded media. It is not even close, but you already know that. You're just a freaking lying hypocritical SOB liberal like all of them.

Now go watch your Stalin movies and Obama reruns and don't try to make either out to be the Waltons.

For 15 years he mocked people who complained aimlessly about Bush and then Obama. Now he is the exact clown he mocked. Its terribly funny.

I like mule and have told him as much. He's one of the few on the Left of this forum I can at least have a rational discussion with. While we often disagree, he doesn't descend into the name calling and is usually respectful if not altogether incoherent at times.

Still, we agree to disagree. I always try to answer him directly with the best information I can fully aware I'm probably not going to change his mind. The only time I can honestly say he was a disappointment was after Mueller's sh*t show, and that universally canned sub par performance was strenuously defended by him.

I lost a lot of respect for him that particular day, but I still think he's an OK poster with some good ideas and a mutually respectful demeanor.

Honestly Dave, it took me a while to catch onto him. He really had me thinking he gives it equally to both sides and only looks for the best policy. However a few back-n-fourth with him on the budget, taxes, abortion, and a few other issues where I tried to see where his base was revealed to me he's nothing but a political Chameleon...wholly dishonest, and incredibly deceitful.

I rarely engage him accept to point out at various times how disingenuous he is.

1,000,000% agree. Don't agree that tariffs will get us anywhere near that. I like arresting Chinese corporate bigwigs that use stolen IP. As nerdy as it sounds, using the WTO, etc. Tariffs cost us money and does nothing to combat IP theft.

No, they don't impact IP theft directly at all.

The only way to force China's hand is try and hit their economy where it would hurt the most. Considering industry is a vast chunk of their economy, then attacking manufacturing could potentially have an impact and force them to the table. But at what cost.

The question becomes who can play the long game and who can't. China benefits from a US system where we elect a President every 4 years, so policy can radically change from year to year. So when the people are displeased, they can vote the leaders out of office. Trump's long game is then limited potentially to 4 years.

While Xi doesn't have that problem, he does have the problem of living in a communist country, where if the "people" (party) are displeased, he could wind up dead. So does a point exist where he will bend to American demands to keep his head on his shoulders.

China, IMHO, is the largest threat to our national security and international standing. While Putin and Russia are the little brother being an annoying dick, they're not in the position to dictate the world economy in the future. China is, mainly thanks to their cheap labor. With companies like Huawei tyring to position themselves as international leaders on the future of all communication tech, we better be ready to play very hard ball with them.

Agree with a lot of this but China would be "no where" without our generous one sided trade with them or our open market to their finished goods. In many ways we're our own worst enemy. Providing the capital for them to subsidize their cheap labor while allowing them to undercut us on trade by restricting our access to their market.

We make it cost prohibitively expensive for our manufacturers to operate here while providing them the leverage to use our wealth financing their manufacturing operations against us. The tariffs are a tool to force them to behave both by not manipulating their currency, stealing our IP, and unfairly compensating their labor. We're not asking for them to give up their plans to improve or grow economically, but not at our expense and certainly not by unfairly ripping us off.

Pete Buttigieg said that the economy under former President Barack Obama was not working for most Americans, during a Tuesday interview with WMUR in New Hampshire.

"The Democrats could, in fact, find a way to lose this election, and the way we would lose is if we look like all we have to offer is a return to the old status quo -- because that wasn't working either," he said.

Buttigieg said part of the reason Trump was elected in the first place was that voters lost confidence in the economic direction of the country during Obama's eight-year tenure.

"We also can't go back to what we had before," Buttigieg continued. "It is time for a new normal where the economy actually works for most of us, and we actually feel that our country is getting ahead. We don't have that now, and that's part of how this president got here in the first place."

He is hated because he is stupid AF

You know it's interesting OM1 how this "stupid" guy has managed to flummox and outsmart you folks on the Left so badly, you can't come up with a better candidate or a better program to defeat him.

Consider these "stupid" results you all are forced to deal with:
  • he won the Presidency against impossible obstacles both within his own party, a corrupt DOJ, near universal media opposition, and a united Democrat party with a candidate who had near universal name recognition.
  • He's managed to realign and redefine his Republican base, eliminate its more moderate recalcitrant members (RINOS) as well as solidify his populist agenda with nearly unanimous Conservative support.
  • He simultaneously has fractured the opposition Democrats, leaving them lurching radically Left trying to energize their kook-fringe base to oppose him, while relying on a party establishment, alzheimer induced, gaffe-prone corpse as their best hope to try and defeat him.
  • He has undone virtually all of the so called "legacy" policies of the inept Obama administration, including systematic dismantling his signature legislative achievement...the "un" affordable care act.
  • He has revived America's energy sector, bringing back nearly 2.00 a gallon gasoline and allowing us to become energy independent for the first time since the early 70's...totally shifting the geopolitical balance as it involves our foreign policy related to protecting access to the World's known energy reserves.
  • He has shifted the debate on American manufacturing from expanding overseas to encouraging more domestic manufacturing...especially among our base industries like steel, aluminum, transportation, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.
  • he has promoted and encouraged repatriation of American financial assets from overseas, as well as turned America into the #1 desired place to base business operations Foreign or Domestic.
  • He has caused a revolution in American employment where the number of available well compensating jobs now outnumbers the supply of available skilled labor to fill them.
  • He has presided over record acceleration of individual investment portfolios, rapid expansion of investment capital, increased valuations of IPO's and spectacular ROI of capital expenditures.
  • He has re-written arcane and outdated regulatory rules on the environment, banking, proprietary patent licensing, intellectual property, broadcasting other FCC regulated activities, transportation logistics, energy exploration, education funding, pharmaceutical pricing and drug approval, veteran's care, as well as Military procurements and US force structure related to our overall long term strategic Military missions and capabilities.
...not only all of that on the Domestic side, but in Foreign policy he has
  • returned Israel and protection of the Jewish State as our #1 Foreign policy objective rather than protecting shipping lanes for Arab oil and the revenues used to finance international terrorism against Israel and her chief supporter...the Unites States of America.
  • Restored U.S. pre-eminence as the dominant global military power.
  • Initiated peace talks to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula after more than half a century of declared War
  • promoted independence movements against Socialist regimes in Central America, and backed opposition to Venezuela's Communist dictatorship
  • Encouraged and promoted a withdrawal of our traditional allies away from the Socialist EU, and towards unilateral trade and Military security agreements the US among former EU members like Great Britain.
  • Removed Russian influence and dominance in the Syrian civil war, and relegated their expansionist activities in the Baltics, Middle East, Eurasia, and Central America ineffective or non existent.
  • Isolated Iran in the Middle East, and lined up our Arab allies in a coalition sworn to the removal of the the Iranian Mullahs.
  • Routed and eliminated ISIS, as well as destroyed its plans to re-create an Islamic republic stretching from India to the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Encouraged India to defy Pakistan and re-take ownership of its land in the Cashmere region west of Tibet, outflanking China in Central Asia.
  • Rebuilt our economic and military alliance with Japan, using it to outflank China in the Pacific, as well as leveraging our influence over the two Koreas to defy Chinese designs on East Asian hegemony...squeezing them from both the East and the West.
  • Promoted and backed independence movements in Hong Kong, stopped Chinese Naval expansion in the South China Sea, and put economic strains on the Chinese economy forcing international investors to flee Beijing for our economic allies in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Australia, South Korea, and India.
  • Single handedly pulled us out of punishing "eco-environmental" ripoff trade pacts such as the Trans Pacific partnership, GATT, NAFTA, and the Paris climate change accords, and fostered a new era of energy growth based on America as the #1 exporter of energy to power economic growth to the developing world.
  • He has has also restored US Maritime dominance, with ongoing efforts to rebuild our standing Naval fleet and bring us back to a 750 plus ship Navy, modernize our Nuclear submarine fleet, and recapture our leadership in Frigates...making us THE dominant Sea going power in the World.
  • He has removed Russia as a major energy supplier to Eastern Europe, and limited their influence among former Eastern block nations who are now looking at American energy and investments to grow their once archaic Soviet-era economies.
  • He has also made a commitment to use American technology to make us the dominant military force in outer space, able to project American force through advanced weaponry designed to make ICBMs launched against us obsolete by our ability to use space based lasers to kill them while in suborbital flight from outer space, and to use our sophisticated spy satellites and drone capabilities to attack land based ICBM silos without us ever having to fire a shot from land based ICBM defenses.
He's so "stupid" he's managed to accomplish all of that in less than 3 years, while idiots like YOU can't figure out a way to make one of your so called "lies" he allegedly tells by rote stick. He has systematically relegated the fraudulent & sycophantic media you idolize and mistakenly believe has emasculated him with their non stop petty criticisms and lies, essentially without credibility and totally non trustworthy as well as unbelievable.

Sounds like a pretty "stupid AF" President to me @Original Mountaineer1 how 'bout YOU?

My final question to you for another one of your snide & pointless remarks to all I've written here about Trump which btw is all 100% verifiably accurate and True...if he's so stupid, why is he still President and YOU are not smart enough to come up with a better plan to top his results or replace them with your own?

Don't bother answering because you'll only end up making yourself out to be more stupid than you accuse him of being. Which quite frankly OM1 is not very hard for you to do. [eyeroll]

Thanks for the cut and paste

No no...I knew you'd say that because you typically don't have anything else to offer when I educate you. You won't find a word of what I wrote to you there off any internet web site. That's all me...originated by me, written by me, edited by me, and I challenge you to factually refute any of it directly from me. You cannot.

Unlike YOU....I'm not led around by the nose from biased news sights. I read, I inform myself. I skip past propaganda and read analysis, study economic trends, read newsletters from folks who observe the world as it is not as some T-V vidiot wishes it to be. All you can do is insult me, but you never can engage me or offer your own rebuttals to anything I have to say.

It's a reason why you are such a waste of time. You call names, throw around hackneyed cliches, you never offer any analysis of your own, never answer questions, never refute any facts, and never consider anything that doesn't fit your own pre-programmed mind numbed media fed brainwashing.

No "cut and paste". I link and excerpt everything I offer for you folks to consider that I didn't write but happen to agree with. Fact is you are totally incapable of even remotely defending anything you believe in opposition to Trump's agenda. What you do believe you lie about, or simply try to discredit anyone who disagrees with you through your childish name calling and idiotic meme references.

Trump has an agenda, knows what he wants, knows how to achieve it, and he is a man of substance. You can mock him or disagree with him all you like, even call him stupid. But the joke's on YOU calling him stupid, 'cause he's schoolin' your dumb *** with every stroke of his pen leaving you only to call him names and stomp or complain or whine about his successes as he systematically pursues his goals and while accomplishing them guides your pathetic hapless political party and its Socialist belief systems into historical irrelevance.

That's funny. Honestly Dog Rescueer I'm just so tired of these Leftists with their pointless posts. @WVU82 mentioned that he's just going to stop responding to them. Me too. That stuff I wrote to OM1 that he accused me "cut and paste" was typical of the type of response I usually get from one of them after I make my points. So that was essentially my goodbye to him. I'm done responding to his childish antics, worthless commentary, aimless positions, and clueless thoughts. I feel that way pretty much about all of them. I just want to see Trump re-elected in a landslide, and the criminals in Obama's corrupt DOJ prosecuted and sent to jail. I'm not trying to engage any of them anymore. They're just gone. TDS infected bloviators.

I'm simply worn out by these lobotomized Leftists and they aren't worth any more of my time. Like coming here to read you guy's perspectives, and really look forward to 82's contributions on things he finds I just can't ever get to.

As for these Leftists....well your gif pretty much sums up all that's left to do to them. [winking]

Both of you should not give up. Stay the course. You both have these nut-jobs eating their own [poop]. Tomorrow is Cooper's turn to feast. I agree tjebarr, keyser, and kkkuntry should be on ignore. Those psychos should be heavily medicated and strapped down in a mental institution.

Cooper is just dishonest...he makes good points especially about deficits and the tariffs neither of which are good for us, but he's such a Damn liar it's hard to take him seriously. Everyone else you mentioned I 100% agree with you on.

I don't put folks on ignore...it's too hard to follow threads doing that. However I do mentally ignore them or just don't bother responding to their vapid posts.

As I said, all I'm really waiting on now is indictments from Barr's investigation of the fraudulent "collusion" investigation. That will make me satisfied we're not living in a two tiered Justice system. Then I just want to see Trump re-elected and these Leftists forced to deal with 4 more years of him wiping out their worthless party and its discredited Socialist philosophy.

So don't worry not quitting...just re-targeting.
